Continuing my journey to watch all of the John Carpenter classics, today we're checking out 1988's THEY LIVE starring Roddy Piper and Keith David! I swear this movie had the most one liners of any film I've ever seen! Plus that long street fight? The insanely gross looking aliens? ...I really think this is what would happen if my father got those sunglasses guys LOL. This movie was a great ride from start to finish! Let me know your thoughts and what I should react to next!

"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum" ! - needed to give some love to that quote as well, even though it was too long to fit in the video title LOL

This movie becomes more prescient with each passing day.

I love this movie. This movie resonates with me more today than ever.
RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper.

They Live was The Matrix before The Matrix

Best damn one loner in the history of cinema.
Roddy Piper, 1954-2015.

John Carpenter the Great!

The extra long (and awesome) fight scene, represents how hard it is for the average person to "wake up" and see the world we're actually living in, for what it really is. This is Carpenters' deepest film, and my personal favorite!

Rumor has it on a quiet night you can still hear Keith David and Roddy Piper kicking each others asses in that alley

5:13 Yah, it is still relevant, and that says something. Says that things never change, sadly.

I've said it many times, if Piper was alive today I would want a team up with John Nada and Jack Burton.

An underrated gem that examines some of the same themes of consumerism and the excesses of the 80's is "The Hidden (1987)" starring Kyle MacLachlan ♥️🤟😎♥️

They Live is based off of a short story, "Eight O'Clock in the Morning", by Ray Nelson...

It saw this in the theatre in 1988 when it came out. The moment he put the glasses on, I understood right away.

The friends I saw it with only giggled at the long drawn out fight because they knew that Roddy Piper was using his WWF skills.

How it feels trying to teach people.

the ultimate man of action, I love how quickly Roddy's character just accepts the reality and escalates to violent resistance of it

John Carpenter's "The Prince of Darkness" is a good movie to watch after this since they both came out at the same time!

This movie and Network like, eternally relevant.
