The ultimate warriors, the Gurkhas, are also the most honourable, humble and gentlemanly.

Dad fought in W II . And he never failed to tell me that the Gurkhas were an admirable and fearless bunch.

I have never met anyone British especially from the Army who didn’t respect the Gurkas: they are usually considered the best silent troops, bless them all!

The Ghurkas are formidable. We are lucky they arena our side, we owe them a lot. Brave and loyal men.

Hi  im 86 i heared a story about the Gurkhas they entered a german camp at night while they were sleeping the Gurkhas severed the heads of some and swapped them around and left in the morning when some woke up the friend on each side had heads swapt over he went insane as did others it left them unable to fight , the Gurkhas were so brave but the British would not give them a pension for many years untill the Goverment relented from the public and military pressure, long live the gurkhas

you don't argue with the Gurkhas. My next door neighbours are former Gurkhas. Kind and gentle people until you get on the wrong side of them.

British Officers did take the Gurkha seriously.... THAT is why they are in the British Army.

The Gurkha were incredibly brave and helped the allies enormously.
We owe them.

A ghurkha warrior was the best companion to have in a tight corner.

There also was the Sikhs in the British and Indian Armys  . Another tremendous fighting force.

A friend was a Gurka , retired and now a public teacher ,and he cares deaply for his students .

What you said about the British officers not taking the Gurkhas seriously was utter crap, they have always been taken seriously, they have proved themselves time and time again.

My father fought along side with the gurkers. His praise for them was very high.
Father hardly ever talked about WW11, never boasting (just got on with the job).
A few years before he died, he threw all his medals in the dustbin in disgust at what this country had become,. One comment was ....why did all his mates died in WW11.  .. fighting to keep Britain free & British. What he would say nowadays, I dare not say.

As a kid in the 50's I would sit and listen to my father and his friends talk about the war...many stories involved Gurkhas and one thing I remember being said several times was that when a Gurkha draws his kukri it will not be re-sheathed until it had drawn blood...didn't seem to happen here. HOWEVER no way would I dispute the bravery and skills of the Gurkhas!

If something looks impossible then send in the Ghurkas.

My cousins uncle served with the Ghurkas  in Italy. I can remember one comment, I’m glad they were o our side . A Sargent in a Scottish Black Watch.

My uncle was there they are heroes, they saved many life's

One of my uncles fought in the far east Burma campaign had 3 gurkas under his command. He had nothing but respect for these fierce warriors. 76+🍁 hunter yorkshire expat

the Ghurka battle cry roughly translates to "The Ghurkas are upon you"..... and if the Ghurkas are your enemy then that really is the LAST thing you want to hear, because if you hear it, then that's probably the LAST thing you will EVER hear!
When the SAS holds you in high regard as a fighting unit, then your probably pretty good at your job.
