Showtape Title: ShowBiz Pizza Place Tape 1
Release Date: January 1980

This is the Rock-afire Explosion's very first showtape. It was originally completed in January of 1980, but wouldn't premiere until August 1980, when the band made their public debut at the second ShowBiz Pzza Place in Jacksonville, Florida. This show is quite short, having only 9 segments, with five of them being original (4 of the 5 segments were repeated on the second half of the tape). Of the 5 segments,  3 of them are center stage skits, one is a Rolfe & Earl skit, and one is a Billy Bob skit. While Billy Bob, Looney Bird, Rolfe and Earl are developed very early on, the characters on center stage have almost no personality at this point and don't interact at all throughout the entire tape. They almost did, however, as there is an earlier version of the School Days skit with an extended intro where the characters actually interact with each other and show signs of personality. This version of the segment went unused, but if you want to listen to it, click this link: The Rock-afire Explosion - School Days wit...
despite this all it's problems, this show is still pretty good, and a good start to one of the best animatronic bands of all time. It only gets better from here.
