Today in Parliament, I raised serious concerns about the Special Operations Bill, 2026.

We all want a safer Trinidad and Tobago, but fighting crime cannot come at the expense of our constitutional rights and freedoms. I highlighted several troubling provisions in this Bill and warned that we must guard against measures that could take us down the road towards a police state and a galloping dictatorship.

National security must never become an excuse for unchecked power.
