Los Cabos International Airport is one of the busiest in Mexico and we are walking you through the entire arrival process so you know exactly what to expect before you land at SJD.

The airport is modern and well organized but the walk from the gate to immigration is longer than you expect. Los Cabos still uses a customs declaration form handed out on the plane, one per family. Immigration took us about 10 minutes on a busy Friday. Then comes the Shark Tank. As soon as you exit customs you will enter a room filled with timeshare vendors and excursion sellers. Keep walking. Your driver is waiting outside.

Outside you will find private transportation, shuttles, taxis, and rental cars. Book transportation in advance. And on car rentals, the listed price is always much lower than what you pay once mandatory insurance is added, so factor that in before booking.
