In this video we explore five practical ESP32 hardware tips that can help you avoid common problems. The first tip shows how to use two breadboards to comfortably prototype with the wider ESP32 development board. Next, we demonstrate why GPIO2 and other bootstrap pins can interfere with uploading code if wired incorrectly. We also test what happens when you try to drive an LED from GPIO34, one of the ESP32's input-only pins. Then we measure the current consumption of the ESP32 in normal operation, light sleep, and deep sleep modes. Finally, we solve a tricky issue where two SPI displays refuse to work together by using the ESP32's dual SPI hardware interfaces. All experiments are shown using simple Arduino sketches and breadboard setups. These tips will help you build more reliable ESP32 projects and better understand how the hardware works.
