So sorry to hear about Josie, It seems she went the beltway she could have. Take the time you need. <3 I enjoyed seeing you go through your stash and matching to new exciting patterns. I'm exciting to see all your projected come together! It's always fun finding new ways to see your stash with new possibilities! In September I went to Wisconsin Sheep and Wool and found a perfect magenta pink and an olive green I wanted for the flowers in the Rosie sweater. Until I got home I was thinking of finding a cream color for the main color. but when I got home I found a charcoal grey cone of yarn I had. it goes perfect with the pink and green, it makes the colors really pop! And while watching I was working on the cables for the Daphne Beanie by Sari Nordlund in a neon pink with a purple pink Suri! Happy Knitting!!

You will never know on the Siri unless you swatch. Can be a 2x2 inch baby swatch. Wash it so it blooms if it does. Then you tuck it up against the skin (under the front of the bra strap works well) for the day. It will let you know if it’s a tolerable or lovable yarn for you. It’s such a wonderful color you won’t want to miss out if you end up loving it.

block the alpaca and see if it blooms. usually its a lot softer after.

I am super sensitive to wool so I have a lot of experience with alternatives like alpaca. alpaca varies widely, and I have noticed that some suri feels really scratchy in the ball or while you’re knitting, but once it’s knitted up, it is amazingly soft. I would definitely test each alpaca in person before assuming it’s safe for someone sensitive to wool.

I have patterns in my library that I will never make that are that way (lack of excitement). Yes some struck a fancy and were saved on impulse as they were free for a limited time. Those don't bug me as much as the ones I chose during 2020. I can even remember looking between two of a certain designer going one is the type I would make and be proud of where the other was a stockinette eternity and picking that one as I was an emotional state. I may have needed one simple knit during that time but I gathered so many and none will be made as I prefer to lose myself in cables, lace or textures not tv knitting.
