Of all the bikes I've owned, my 1963 A-10 Super Rocket is the one I miss the most, regardless of all the issues people are always regurgitating. That thing had a feel and sound that no other bike could duplicate. Love can include an object. I learned to live with Loctite and daily inspections. It tolerated my deficiencies and we lived together for about 3 years till left for Alaska.

Ah, that takes me back to the early 60s when I had Beeza 650s with the the timing etc, some had the manual advance/retard which just moved the cam ring and also the auto advance which just had bob weights, I remember the nightmare of reinstating the push rods after having the head off even if you used the BSA comb that was made for it, Regarding the stop for the engine that went to the magneto, I teed in a hidden switch that earthed it and the times I had forgot that I had used it and came back and tried to start it, good memories and bad.

Brake light only works with the rear brake pedal.

I'm new here - YT just served it up to me in my feed, but one tiny detail triggered a memory for me, and that was the "kill switch" button. 60+ years ago, my Dad had some old bike that he advertised for sale in the local paper. A bloke came to look at it while Dad was at work, but Mum showed him the bike and he started it up. But he didn't know how to stop it, (there was of course no ignition switch) and neither did my Mum. Cue the 4 year old me who proudly announced that he knew how to stop it and, even though using the kill button involved only a subtle movement of his gloved hand, I had seen Dad do it so many times that I knew exactly what to do. Fast forward 60-odd years and I've forgotten all about the details, but this video brought it all back. Thankyou.

My Dad used to tell me about tensioning primary chains by moving the gearbox back (he had an A7 at one point), leaky primary drive cases (he was a Norton man, it was apparently endemic) and playing about with magnetos. Can't say I'm envious!

Its a Golden Flash here in England too. I know, I know I'm a pedant.

In the 60s and 70s, I had a G12 Matchless, A10 BSA, T 120 Triton, and didn't have a wet sumping problem  EVER. I never heard of anyone of the bikers talk about it EVER. If the bikes were parked up for months we just pulled them out checked them and off we went. Is it to do with modern oils I wonder ?
