man this is exciting to learn and enjoy all because of Ginger Baker . Am upset because I had a set of drums and I sold them but am blessed because I did come across a trumpet and I do practice every other day as well as the congo drums.Beautiful piece wow am shell shock right now . Bravo.❤❤❤❤

What an absolute treat! One one of the best live concert experiences I’ve ever had in my life was seeing the max roach Quartet with the same instrumentation in this video. Plus, what a great group of musicians in this video Billy Harper is one of my favorites.

wow!!!!!!

❤

👏🏿👏🏿

still love this music!!

What a musician. What an artist. What a man.

love his work!!

Brilliant pianoless quartet

Thank you 🙏

Amazing Max!

woauuauau thanks Zvonimir !!!

L'année où je l'ai vu pour la première fois = en janvier 1977 à l'Espace Cardin (Paris), avec un tromboniste à la place de Cecil Bridgewater.

Stunning hihat solo at 20:00.

Most underrated quartet

This is simply stunning!! I am mind blown!! Terrific camera work on the individual solos. The sound, and video of the performance is fabulous. Thank you Z.B. This 61 year old Canadian boy appreciates it. Take care, and all the best.

What a wonderful gift to be able to see this! Young Reggie Workman, Max still with his full vitality and yet having entered that master/guru phase of accrued experience and wisdom. Great video and sound. Love those matte Ludwigs and that thin China cymbal! The 6.5" Black Beauty, what sound! Listening, this group actually reminds me a lot of Mingus' quintet of a couple years prior with Jack Walrath and George Adams (with the notable absence of a chordal instrument). Max was sometimes thought of as a traditionalist but these guys are blowing some hardcore post-bop modern shit here! Thanks for posting.
