This was the first video I’ve ever heard the background noise on Brian’s side. Every other time I just hear him complaining about it but nothing else. 😂

Really well done documentary. I especially loved the Caesar's exec demanding that they start the PPV over lol.

I like to see more docs like this for other Manias.

Cornette saying that Vince McMahon wanted everyone to have the same pencils because “he erased a lot” is some unintentionally poignant stuff.

As a kid I didn’t have cable. I didn’t watch this mania. So I went to school the next day, asked my friend who won the wwf title match. He said hulk hogan. I remember distinctly telling him “that make NO sense. He was in the tag team match.”

Apparently Brian forgot the promo where it was said that Dibiase paid people to attack Hogan.

The actual look of the show with the Roman Empire theme was cool af. Also it was the first Wrestlemania to be held outside which was great besides the matches itself.

Savage impression "Must've been a hell of a punch!" that popped me 🤣🤣

Mania 9 looked liked a WCW event. Outdoor venue, skinny Hogan, southern market.

I watched this as a 10 year old and as a 10 year old I remember thinking this was awesome wrestlemania

To me, Doink became a star unintentionally.

The craziest story I’ve heard about Giant Gonzalez was probably from his manager Harvey Whipleman who told the story about Gonzales being too big for ring rats that the rats couldn’t handle it so Gonzales being the nice guy that he was asked Harvey to take over for him in satisfying the ring rats Harvey goes on to say Gonzales was just the nicest guy behind the scenes always helpful and happy to be there

"Caesar's Palace was gonna pay me $10 million to build a gold statue of me, but they decided my body was much better than a Greek god, so they decided not to go through with it."
-Hulk Hogan, probably

Bret said the reason Davey went blank was because he had spent the week before summer slam smoking crack with the anvil

Hogan screaming “let’s kick some ass” to pump himself was great

Honestly, this was one of the most well produced documentaries WWE has ever done. And the Nick Khan thing was like a David Fincher level twist lol

They did build the Hogan black eye into the storyline. Money Inc in their promo before the match was hinting they had something to do with it.

For all its flaws, it at least had the novelty of being outdoors and a unique theme, unlike Mania XI and its nondescript venue.

The issue with Hogan was that he was just so over with the majority of the fans, no matter what happened. Just go back and watch that WM. The pop he gets for the tag match and the ending is insane. The crowd goes nuts. Whenever Vince thought things weren't going well, he always defaulted to what he saw as the safe option. In this case it was making Hogan the face of the company again.
