I always love how brutaly honest Carpenter is. I dont think there are a lot of directors as honest as him

People need to understand how much of legend this guy is. It hurts when they say "jon carpenter halloween" while he made "the thing, in the mouth of madness, they live" this guy influence in the media has no limits he inspired the "Metal gear, mortal kombat" in wreslting too.
'They live" alone makes him a legend.

Carpenter's The Thing is a masterpiece.

This guy is an absolute legend!

Christine was awesome

Love Carpenter’s sense of humor & the British humor in this video lol.  John is a legend.

A Masterclass before Masterclasses became a thing. JC is in rare form here. Dope footage!

His movies are must watch in my opinion. The characters he writes are so memorable especially those played by Kurt Russell

Pretty hilarious when he's asked about if he would have directed Interview with a Vampire, and he responds no vampires are a stale genre at this point. Meanwhile John Carpenter's Vampires comes out four years later. 😆

I loved the fog, especially as a child watching it with my dad. We just loved his style as a filmmaker. Even the font he uses oozes style and cinematography. His music, his tone, his attitude, and how you can tell it's a movie he made...very signature involved style

John Carpenter is the most charismatic and interesting Director when giving interviews. I love his films , he has such a great body of work..films and scores alike ♥️

"what do ya think of Halloween 4, 5, 6?" 1:05:33 LMAO 🤣 lot of great moments in this whole thing but this cracked me up.

Great. Great interview! A legend

He was honest answering how to become a director . Nowadays 2024 it’s a lot easier you can easily making a movie via YouTube . Back then I believe was really tough . People today knowing how to use this powerful tool , internet , they can truly become successful

He's a legend a genius I love his films

Mr Cool my hero. 😎

The Hong Kong movie John nentions is called ‘Zu-warriors from the magic mountain’ starring Yuen biao, moon lee, Samo hung and Meng hoi. Great film.

Possibly the best and most comprehensive interview of Carpenter's I've seen. Great!!!!!

The advice regarding "how to be a director/rock star" between 1:01:41 and 1:02:50 is legendary

Hes great here but you can totally tell he's fiending for a smoke while he talks
