There are padded mats and interlocking rubber gym mats you can place under the cat hamster wheel. People often use them in gyms to soften and absorb dropped weights. You can do something with them so it matches your aesthetic

Thanks for the links! I really found your videos at the perfect time. I'm in a small home and have two resident cats(siblings) that were rescued and now a kitten that was rescued,Lord my friends rescuing to many cats:). Not to mention a big ol Rottweiler. All is going well so far and I'm going to try your ideas. Yes big Rottie sis is actually good with her kitten friends.

Great video. Pro tip: vertical space is your best friend in small apartments. Cat trees and wall shelves saved us so much floor space while keeping our cats entertained and giving them escape routes from each other.

You actually can soundproof cat wheels - or, realistically, dampen to unidentifiable low rumble from loud structural noise. You either need multiple layers of soundproof sandwich foam, or ~40 shore rubber feet and cement blocks to increase wheel mass. First will make the wheel wobble even more but easily diyable, second is a harder route (you have to pour cement up to size and precision calculate rubber feet area from specific density rubber), but both do work
