Join me for a nighttime adventure around Chiang Mai, Thailand, as we explore some of the city’s most popular spots beyond the usual tourist trail!

We start at Ang Kaew Reservoir, where Chiang Mai University students gather for exercise, photography, music, and socialising. From there, we head to the University Market, explore Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center, and experience the busy streets and changing atmosphere of Nimman.

Next, we visit Chang Phueak (North Gate) Market for some legendary Thai street food, including the famous stewed pork leg and rice. We then make our way through the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar and down Loi Kroh Road, checking out the nightlife, markets, massage shops, cabaret venues, and local businesses.

Along the way, we meet locals, fellow viewers, and volunteers supporting children in Tak Province.

Nice little tour around. I need to try that pork you had. That looked amazing. I’ll be back in Chiang Rai in November, December. Then Vietnam for 90 days. I think once smoky season is over, I’m coming to Chiang Mai. I have only done a few days there in 2012. Think I might do 60 days this time.

This Ang Kaew Reservoir location looks like a perfect place to walk and get steps in after a gym session. If I lived near there it would be my daily mission to walk there.

Nice out there by the reservoir. I never got out that way sadly.
Looked quiet riding down Loi Kroh Rd.
The night market is always a good spot for a feed an a bit of shopping if you're needing anything . I love those art shops. So many very talented people there mate.
Always good seeing a subscriber mate. Should have stopped for a beer with him.
Still looks a bit quiet there but it's still low season.

Another good video Wayne! I can't believe how quiet Anusan market is and that seafood restaurant on the corner where I always go...everyone seems to be going to the night Bazaar further up the road, where you have two night markets opposite each other and the old city and Nimman I guess?

I loved Anusarn Market. I had a long chat with the painter at 23:30 who specializes in Native American art and his work is incredible. He himself looks like a Native American but he is Thai. I can't really remember and maybe you know Wayne did Thailand have a similar native culture like the American Indians? He is a great guy to chat with if you can take the time one day.
