The most frustrating thing about this show is Bojack had plenty of chances to change and plenty of people to talk to and open up to. But he just ignored them and hurt them

LOVED diane’s comment after flip asks where she got that kind of story for the scene from, & she simply replies that she once heard a story like it. all she did was “change up the names” just like indira & her wife did the entire episode. crazy full circle comment!

Dr Indira did all this for a client that wouldn't even agree to do therapy with her...

Maybe whales live in Wales so Diana is both a princess of Whales and Wales.

I also like that bojack saying they are the same (when he is objectively worse) is the exact thing that sends Diane into doing arguably the worst thing she’s done in the show

Fun fact about Flip:
He is not just a satire about people who think they are more talented then they are, he is a representation of the stress, doubts, and feelings Raphael felt when making the show.
But because Raphael is self accountable and a perfectionist, he is not Flip.
But you can say, that in a way, Flip is Raphael's biggest fear, + everything he hates about himself.

i love how the way that diane "proves" she is not at all like bojack is something that approaches her to him even more. she didn't think of penny or how this would affect her at all, she did not concern herself with exploiting her abuse, she was completely guided by self interest and just wanted to make bojack feel guilty to validate her own (very low) self esteem. genius writing!

the "left her to die" thing can apply to Penny's emotional state of course, but also Maddie! BoJack left her and Pete alone at the hospital without knowing if she'd actually be okay, and people can die from alcohol poisoning

21:13 "You kissed a young girl, and then left her to die" It's terrifying to think how, besides Penny, I associate this line with someone else: Sarah Lynn (Am I reading too much of it? Yeah, but who cares?)

I always assumed he was Emperor Finger Face because clock? Finger-face --> hands on a clock --> Emperor Fingerface --> CEO of What Time Is It Now

It makes me so sad to think of Penny ever watching this episode of Filbert. I know Diane did it to confront Bojack and make him face up to what he did, but holy shit, thats so fucked up. Diane took Penny’s trauma and turned it into a shitty tv show starring the very man who traumatized her. Imagine watching the man who preyed on you reenact what he did on film for the whole world to see, complete with intimate details about your life: your age, where you live, etc. How retraumatizing. This episode always reminds me that oftentimes, when we see someone who’s done harm, we focus more on punishing them than on helping the people they hurt - sometimes even to the detriment of the people they hurt. Even when she was finally breaking ties with Bojack, Diane chose to focus all of her attention on him instead of the vulnerable girl who was still healing from what he did to her.

Im surprised we never got an episode where Penny saw this episode of Filbert and spiraled because of it.

Todd & PC have an underrated friendship.

I'm sure Wales still exists as Whales, and the people are Whalsh. Which is an accent that I want to hear now

17:45 It is also not Diane's responsibility to be the one that Bojack opens up to. Neither it is her responsibility just because she is a friend, to help him understand his actions.

I wished you showed the joke where Mr Chocolate Hazel Nut realized his mom died because the slow realization on his face as he's trying to deny it followed by the crying is one of the funniest jokes in the whole series

22:04 I personally think this is the worst thing Diane does in the series, she aired a young girls trauma on international television. It's not unlikely that Penny or her classmates saw this, and once this gets out later it could be easy to draw the comparison

9:46 absolutely not a ridiculous request, even if she wasn't uncomfortable around him. I think thats a healthy boundary.

5:34 dude I was SOOOOOOOOOO confused what the diaphragm (the respiration muscle) has to do with being trans and why Gina's was apparently outside of her body, i had no idea a diaphragm was also a birth control device 😭💀

20:36 easily Diane’s worst moment.  I get that it was to push the conflict with Bojack, but realistically, her putting that scene in risks Penny & Charlotte seeing it, and causing a world of pain for Penny all over again—because keep in mind, this is set to air on TV in universe, and they could very well see that at some point.
