OMG, the whole cast is absolutely brilliant! Kevin Bacon was brilliant in this scene when bargaining with the yourhful arrogant bit highly talented attorney Cruise.
Bodison as Dawson was also magnificent! His somewhat naive stubbornnesses paired with his feel for honor and respect, his doubts, his will to own whatever he did despite the consequences: he absolutely nailed it to perfection.
The whole cast, dialogues, camera, arc of tension - everything perfect!
This might be the most underrated movie in cinema history

As a veteran, one thing I learned is that the country doesnt give 2 shits about you. Serving a life sentence over some stupid code is just dumb.

Kudos to Dawson on standing by the code. 👏 Weinberg was correct about My Lai and Nuremberg, and Galloway sure challenged Kaffee! Love this, it’s one of my favorite movies. 👍

Marines don’t tend to like it when you call them “soldiers”.

@Irina-t2d8t 2 months ago

Да..-изначально..-эти солдаты(при любом раскладе. )-заслужили наказания..Любые отговорки,-не скроют смерть невиновного..

Kaffee: “…Do it Harold…you’ll be home in six-month…..it’s a hockey season…”

Legal counsel cannot pressure his or her client in any way or fashion.

They are NOT "soldiers" they are "MARINES" you clown.

@CollinMonohan24 2 months ago

This shows how brainwashed marines are. He was more worried about breaking a “code” then making his higher ups be held responsible.

@cal5444 2 months ago

But where did he question the soldiers?

@ringo1029384756 1 month ago

Kaffee is right, though. These two should have known that what they were doing was dangerous and potentially illegal should anything go wrong. Involuntary manslaughter is what it is... I mean, they were going home with a BCD or a Dishonorable, anyway. What did it matter? And nobody knew about Jessup giving the order, that was a fishing expedition that Kaffee lucked out on.
