"ayo, your mom killed someone i loved, so i killed her. Come run the fade whenever you want."
-some pretty vampire taking to a traumatized boy

Just to put it into perspective, the first Castlevania series mostly took place in 1475/6, so around 300 hundred years before Nocturne, which picks up with the French Revolution.

"The people in the town deserved it"

Babies and children of the city: "Damn, the fuck I did to you?"

I think the main reason olrox let Richter live was because he aint fully evil. He a vengeful ass vampire but he aint gonna kill a kid

"He's so beautiful bro" Roshi you're so right Olrox got us all actin up with his beauty

Clapping Sypha's cheeks was the greatest thing that Trevor ever did for the Belmont bloodline

This is taking place 300 years in the future btw. So Trevor and Sypha are very distant ancestors.

4:23 If only Richter’s mom had remembered, all final bosses have more than one form.

For those that don't know:
Saint Domingue was the French colony on the island Hispaniola, where the first ever successful slave revolution took place and came to an end in 1804, marking the day of Independence for Haiti, the first free black republic. The other half of the island, which was a Spanish colony, later became the Dominican Republic.

Its been a couple generations since trevor and cypha. But the mom being able to use magic as you already figured out was a cypha thing she inherited.

It's not made clear, but the reason all the fireworks is going off in Boston 1783, is that's when the Revolutionary War officially ended. Contrary to popular belief, the war didn't end on July 4th, 1776, we just upgraded from being rebel upstarts to being our own fully-fledged nation; we have the papers and documents now, we became official. Which, in hindsight seems a lot more bureaucratic but at the time it's more like the biggest middle finger you could give one of the dominant powers of the western world at the time. Saint Dominique is present-day Haiti; the slaves there went through their own revolution with France following the French Revolution (the dissolvement and execution of the royalty, nobility, aristocracy, and those, especially priests, who sided with them them out of fear of losing their lofty way of life), which was an even bigger middle finger at the time than what happened in America, because not only were people rebelling, they weren't even viewed as people by the French or other nations, these were slaves rebelling in Haiti (what's funny is that France conscripted Polish forces, a lot of them deserted and joined the Haitians; imagine you some Haitian army recruiter and you see a bunch random white people roll up with vodka asking if they can join because they also hate the French, like that Polish army squad that recruited a bear in I think WWII and he carried artillery shells, like you're in the trenches and a bear walks by carrying crates of bombs, this bear outranks you); which, it sucks but America was at best neutral, France helped us during the revolution and America still had many slave-owners, including our founding fathers, like it was a very conflicting scenario, and France at the time still owned like most of America's frontier.

Gotta say I admire Roshi's undying loyalty to Dracula and His genocide project 🤣🤣

Detail about the plates - they were silverware. Night creatures are vulnerable to silver. So by turning the silver plates into silver weapons, she was able to kill them when Richter and co had a harder time cutting them down.

So when I thought castlevania couldn't get any more beautifully animated, yeah I was fucking wrong. They blew us out the water with this, holy shit

We in this b*tch! I’m so excited for their reactions to this series 😮

When Maria sent those two Pidgeotto’s out the first time was so satisfying to watch! Double Aerial Ace!

Fun fact: Maria's summons are based off the legend of the Four Lords: Genbu (Black Tortoise), Byakko (White Tiger), Suzaku (Vermillion Bird), and Seiryu (Azure Serpent).

To put it into perspective: Richter is the grandson of Juste Belmont, who is in turn the grandson of Simon Belmont, who is the grandson of Trevor. So Trevor is Richter’s Great x4 Grandfather

This is an amazing opening to a show.

Julia Belmonts abilities really shows how scary Belmonts have the potential to be.
The martial abilities of Trevor and the magical power of Sypha.

Also the vampire being Aztec, makes sense, since they had a vampire Gof.

Until I saw this episode I never actually considered how close the American and the French revolutions where, just 6 years apart.
Interesting times.

The original Netflix series was a masterpiece, and so far, this is proving to be very good too. I can't wait to see how it all pans out. Also, the women in the beginning is not Trevor and Sypha's daughter. She is one of their descendents. Castelvania took place in the late 1500s AD, Castelvania: Nocturen takes place in the late 1700s - early 1800s AD. About 3 generations after Trevor and Sypha.
