As I’ve been traveling through places and memories that have meant so much to me, I’ve been thinking about what it really means to curate a life. It isn’t only about choosing what comes next. Sometimes it means choosing how we carry what has already passed.

I don’t want to erase the sadness. But I can acknowledge it, talk about it with people I trust, and remind myself how fortunate I was to have those experiences at all.

Maybe part of living without regret is learning to hold both things at once: the sadness that something is over and the gratitude that it happened.
