IS This The POSHEST Place in all of WOLVERHAMPTON?

A Walk With Phil

I visit the village of Tettenhall in Wolverhampton. It is the most sought after place to live in this city frequented by the middle class and the well to do professional class. The village has grand vistas of green spaces and not a vape store in sight.

Yet another fantastic video of our local area, thank you Phil for including my childhood village, I remember I used to do a paper around here after school back in the early 90s. Riding my BMX bike with a huge heavy bag full of newspapers, the locals were very generous and I used to get tips at Christmas time. Tettenhall village is the best. ❤

This is an absolute boster of a location to visit, Phil. I don't live that far away from Tettenhall. It's like walking back in time to the Victorian/Edwardian era. I love it at this time of year too, when the leaves are just about to turn colour, showing off their autumnal coats. It's really a community hub, a truly bostin place. Thank you so much for sharing, it's full of history and nostalgia.

My mother’s family were from Tettenhall and lived in Lime’s Road and surrounding area of the village.I was also born in Tettenhall and now live a couple of miles away in Perton. My grandmother’s sister had an antique shop in Limes Court.Like many shops in the village,The Carpenter’s Arms has had many reincarnations including antique shop, toy shop, ladies dress shop, bar and now pub and the police station is the boarded up building next to the short stay car park.

My late mum was a dinner lady aka Catering Assistant at Tettenhall College. She had to work on Saturdays, when they had Speech Day, but they were allowed to bring home any unwanted food - we loved it and it was then that I discovered my loathng for Twiglets (yuk!). When she retired in 1990s, she had her retirement party there.

What a lovely town. It's like a different world compared to the usual cities and towns. Great video!

The two Greens as a deck outback, it's ideal for drinks with clear elevated views during the summer.

The two empty buildings after the car park entrance on the left (2:59) were the police station and Lloyds bank.

Very nice. First thing I notice is , there is no litter or folk sucking on those ridiculous vapes. And the buildings are intact !

Very quaint. It seems very laid back.😊

Tettenhall — where appearances seem to matter more than anything else. Overpriced coffee shops, Botox clinics popping up everywhere, and an air of success that doesn’t always quite match reality. Everyone seems to be living the dream, at least on the surface. It won’t be long before there’s a Turkish barber on the high street and a nail bar on every corner. All very polished, very expensive, and just a little bit pretentious.”

I used to frequent a folk music club in Tettenhall I'm pretty sure it was at the rock tavern or the rock hotel it was upstairs I spent many a night listening to some quite well known folk bands and if I remember correctly the organiser was a folk musician and I think his son was in a popular heavy metal band
