99% of what I have ever said in life has been wrong ..But I have to say when I told you ...you were a woodcarver ! That I got right ! .. Your work and inspiration to so many learning woodcarvers today Doug is wonderful .. I love your new style and your new pieces ..Keep it up my friend ..you are the best ..And Charles is a master at his art

Doug, over the past 4-5 years, you have been my primary instructor,  and motivation into developing my wood carving hobby.
I often find myself tripped up over my obsession with Perfection and my carvings stall because of it.
Your common sense  approach regrounds me as I come back to keeping things simple.
I do not restrict myself as to what tools to use. Knives, gouges, and even power tools all work for me in my mixed style. When I get bogged down, I switch up and try new or different things, like
relief carving etc. I still struggle with faces and eyes...
Thank you for bringing me a wonderful outlet for keeping busy and having fun in my retirement years.

You're so gifted. Beautiful work. Love it.

Hi Doug, 4 years ago I started carving when I saw a video of yours.  I had no  interest in carving what so ever.  Thanks to you Sir,  I am now obsessed with it. Lord knows how many carvings I've done since. Thank you Doug I love it.

Thanks for always coming back to share a part of you with us. We’re lucky to have you, Doug. 🤘

Congrat on 10 super successful yrs.  You're an awesome teacher too

O man a new LINKER VIDEO!! So good to see you back Doug. I have been whittling away trying to get batter at stuff. I still need a lot of work on eyes but every coffee break and lunch break at work I go for a walk and whittle a mushroom or wood spirits and leave it for people to find along the path, and every day someone takes one. its brought me a lot of joy watching your videos over the past year. I can appreciate the time off you needed and happy you re kindled your love of carving, there is nothing worse then doing something you love and it turns into or feels like work.

I have been checking YouTube daily looking for you.  I hope you find it exciting hanging out with us again.

I was worried you weren't coming back.   Glad my worries were unfounded.  My favorite carving instructor is back!

So glad you had a great summer but very happy you are back on YouTube. After your podcast with Alex, I was afraid you were burned out. You are charming, funny and talented. Also, I appreciate your honesty! Patty

Nice to have you back! It's down to your videos I started carving again a few years ago. I had no one to consult so I started looking for help and found your video (among others). I followed you. Thank you for the friendly, down to earth style, the wee breaks to go camping and fishing and canoeing and always keeping it real. Whatever you post I will be there ❤❤❤❤

So great to see you again!  All the presents I gave out last year were figures I made from your 1x1 series, so grateful for the time and effort you've put into this channel, can't wait to see what's next.  And the fisherman you made in class is stunning!!!

Doug, so happy to see you again. Congratulations on your 10 year anniversaries - I so appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge & talent through these videos. And I completely understand why you need a break now & then. Looking forward to seeing more of you :)

Glad you're back, Doug.  As others have mentioned similarly, you are the reason I got into carving to begin with.  I love your diversity in carving and I'm looking forward to the changes you plan for the future.  That said, I hope you don't abandon the instructional aspects of your videos as that is what I find most valuable.  Take care!

Doug I signed up for Charles Banks class this morning and you have blown my mind dropping this video today. You have been so inspirational and you have been the one who got me on this journey after seeing your carving videos years ago. Thank you so very much.

Great Video !   You da man !   Thanks as always….

I’ve watched several channels on carving, however Dougs style of teaching, love of the craft, and ability to relate have captivated me.  I carve because of this.  Thank you.

Yahoo glad you are back. My wife can't wait to add the flat plane carvings to the house decorations. I'm glad you are back. The day goes better when I start it with you. A day without Doug is like a day without sunshinge.

And now the world awaits The Doug linker tutorial on his version of a scaled down Charles Banks blank that will open the eyes to a million people on how to do a different style of carving while moving the entire art form forward. Glad to see ya back! You are the best my brother!

Nice to see some more of your work, it's been about a year since I last watched any
