I used to think it was called Madden because every time my Dad played it he got really mad.

That super bowl prediction ended up adding unintended comedy to this

I could not care less about football but damn do I love a multi-generational videogame franchise review just enough to watch this whole thing.

Ranking Mahomes at the top for a complete multigenerational Madden tier list was like dropping a Spirit Bomb of bad luck.

This is the gaming equivalent of watching all of Steven Seagals movies.

It’s funny I only played Madden from 04-07 and had some great times, but I had no idea back then I was enjoying the best the series ever had to offer

In Madden 92 on the Genesis, you can get the ambulance to come out easily by just calling Quarterback sneak 3 or 4 times in a row.

The thought of a dude several years younger than me bringing a Game Gear to high school with him sent me for a loop. I'm both amazed and bewildered. I graduated in 08 and I had a DS and PSP, but you were intentionally carrying around the handheld I had when I was in 2nd grade.

And I thought I was a hipster because I carried around a Discman and a book of CDs while all my friends had iPods! Speaking of which, I feel slightly less guilty about all the batteries I went through lol. I'd go through 2 AAs a week. If my memory of the Game Gear still holds up, that thing could chew through 6 AAs in a 2 hour car ride.

I loved the part where he said "these Madden games are driving me absolutely MAD! What was I thinking!?" 10/10 video

I’m only ten seconds into this video but I feel compelled to write this comment of support and admiration for you dude. This is the new age of pushing boundaries for both YouTube and mankind, and I’m all for it.

2 hours of talking about games I've never played based on a sport I know next to nothing about? I'm sold!

39:33 RB NO. 5 here is Paul Hornung. He held the point scoring record for a season (15 total TDs, 41/41 extra points, 15/28 on field goals) until LaDainian Tomlinson broke it with his monster season in 2006 (31 total TDs). The records shown on that screen were the real records at the time, but you'd have to connect some dots looking at old records. RB NO. 26 is Lionel James' season with the Chargers in '85 where he had 1000 yards receiving, 500 rushing, and another 1000 from kick and punt returns. This has been broken a few times by Derrick Mason in 2000, Michael Lewis in 2002, and is now held by Darren Sproles after his 2011 season. And RB NO. 5 is Eric Dickerson's season rushing record (16 games played) , still standing after being put in jeopardy by Saquon this last season with 2005 yards (16 games played, 17 total), though some debate that it should belong to O.J. SImpson, after having 2003 yards in only 14 games played.

Dude, the amount of work you put into this is legendary. Great video and a lot of childhood memories.

Speaking of Madden 10

I had moved from northeast Ohio to Phoenix, AZ in 07' and grew up a Steelers fan, so that 09' Super Bowl was a huge moment of contention for me lol. I went to a massive Super Bowl watch party at my church and that 100 yard pick six had me POPPING OFF as a room of about 200 people just stared at me.
Years later, even as a Steelers fan, still feel bad about that win.
At the same time, I don't.

But that Madden 10 cover will always be important to me, not only for having two players on the cover, but both athletes were and remained top players and they were both of the teams that mattered to me.

I don't think I've ever played a single football video game outside of Tecmo Bowl on NES at my neighbor's house in 1989-90, but I'm actually looking forward to all 2+ hours of this, purely for how ubiquitous the series -- and Madden himself -- was throughout the '90s and beyond.

I daresay it may be impossible to not see at least one copy of a Madden game shoved amongst the dozens of other unwanted sports titles that line the shelves of every game store, thrift, and pawn shop across the nation.
