How To Draw Figures in Perspective

David Finch

This video is all about drawing figures in perspective. Starting with a simple figure in perspective, we add other figures into the scene, explore working with different planes, seated figures along standing figures, and finish with a drawing of figures populating a city street.

Please don’t apologize for giving us progress over polish. We know you can make polished renderings. We need the process.

Sees the grid at the beginning, is immediately intimidated.

David, these type of things are so hard to come by in even masters level art courses. Thank you for this.

"Awful figures" - They look pretty good to me! I'd love to see that street scene finished, maybe in another tutorial about adding detail?

There's nothing more precious than actually seeing someone drawing an actual scene, with characters and stuff placed in it, using perspective. I really needed to see it. Thank you.

You know you leveled up when you can draw in 4 dimensions.

Everyone don't get discouraged if you can't get it first try this takes months or years to master so it will start of sloppy but keep practicing we can do it

I've learned more about perspective figure drawing in a 31:12 minutes video of yours than in 3 years at my hometown's comic school. Thank you David for putting this knowledge out for the noobs like me. I wish you have a very happy new year 2021!

"it's not a complex process at all" This encourages me! I'm going to get this!

This is probly the fun'est part of drawing comics for me. To build your own world/reality using people in perspective! I'll use this to improve. Thanx dave. Happy new yr!💥😊

You’re casual way of drawing those figures makes me want to put down the pen and walk away from art

Great video. It really covers almost everything there is in relation to perspective, but I feel there is still space for a second part showing us how to draw action poses in perspective. That'd be like the advanced lesson on this topic.
