Your PF2e content is consistently solid and this video was really well put together. I appreciate you actually engaging with the topic instead of farming outrage. Keep doing your thing. I agree whole heartedly, Paizo’s choice is disappointing but personal attacks from some upset fans are not it. Nobody deserves to get dogpiled because they have a take on a tabletop class.

That said, I think the frustration from a lot of “reddit/youtube” folks is coming from a pretty real place too. Psychic didn’t stay the same in a vacuum, it lost a lot of what made it feel special when the remaster boosted the whole focus ecosystem. So for people who’ve been waiting for QoL and a little love, it feels like getting skipped in line. Not excusing bad behavior at all, just saying the huge disappointment wave isn’t necessarily unhealthy for customer-seller relations. Bad actors aside I think this is a good chance for Paizo to take in quality feedback. Hopefully they have something already cooking; honestly, all it really needs is several quality feats and maybe a class archetype.

Either way, I'm still glad to be finishing a Kingmaker campaign as a psychic next weekend before this update.

What was sad for me was after great improvements, such as to the witch that got smoother to run and more competitive to play, the psychic is still just as fiddly and still feels weak.  I mean at this point, I'd rather play a fire or air  kineticist and just flavor it that I'm psychically manipulating the environment around and not waste time with the Psychics fiddliness.  I FEEL (knowing this is subjective) like other classes with some complexity like summoners and thaumaturges have much more meaningful rewards for getting into the minutia of their classes.

Paizo is making me feel insane.
Yet again we have another round of Remaster changes and we get to see a ton of classes that don't need buffs getting them, while many other classes that needed them (or could use them) either get completely ignored (Monks and Rangers) or are outright nerfed or changed for the worst. And in the context of the Remaster, standing still means getting worse because everyone else got better.
Feels like there's a major disconnect between what the fandom (the people who use these classes the most) see these classes as and what Paizo sees them.
Investigators, Inventors, Psychics, Swashbucklers and Gunslingers needed some substantial improvements, in the scope of the Witch's changes imo, but they got largely minor changes and improvements. Then, we get classes like Thaumaturges, Sorcerers, Rogues, Fighters and Barbarians getting significant buffs on top of everything they already had.
It kinda sucks as a PF2e fan seeing a bunch of classes that could be cooler and smoother being passed over in favor of making good classes even better. Paizo is treating it like a zero-sum game it seems.

To me, what the Psychic could use was more ways of gaining focus points mid combat. They lost their gimmick of having extra focus points throughout the day, so either give them straight up more points to work with (4+) or allow them to use several mechanics to recharge them mid combat. Contrary to what most players think, combats in PF2e can, and do, last more than 3 rounds!

Just sharing, it's the little things, like transparancy on getting an advanced copy, that show you are not just providing great content, but focusing on doing so ethically and valuing your viewers.  Stay awesome!

if I really need an additional focus point, I can still take the blessed one dedication. I personally am just a little disappointed, that the psychic didn't get some interesting new 'something', like other classes that got a remaster.

A couple of corrections:

-The cantrip the Psychic used to get with the dedication would not get the passive improvement of the subclass. They were only able to be amped. Only the cantrip they would get with the level 6 feat that would get the passive bonus. It was weird and clanky, honestly. That means they replaced the focus point + amp with the passive cantrip improvement for the dedication, which is less of a downer.

-About the force vs physical damage on the Imaginary Weapon cantrip: Even against ghosts, it wasnt that much better. Against a Ghost Mage, for example, that is a level 10 ghost, the force damage would just deal, on average, +4 damage in comparison with what it used to deal, and the trade off is dealing -6 damage against everything else. And more importantly, dealing even less damage against the many MANY enemies that are weak to either Slashing or Piercing, like, for example, a lof of other more common undead like Zombies. Force is more unique and have some advantages, and would be fine if it was just the damage type change, but it simply do not make up for the damage lost. A better balance change would have been to lock the unique cantrips to the class itself, not make it able to get them with the dedication.

This was one of the BEST short descriptions of the OGL Debacle. Well done.

I’ve never played a Thaum or a Psychic (and hadn’t planned to…there are So Many Classes to play!), so I missed most of the fuss around this new version of the book. But it WAS hilarious to learn a Thaum’s powers come from “Old Wives Tales” 🤣

As an offset to internet hate, I would like to recommend the Danny Kaye combination toxicologist alchemist + thaumaturge:  the pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice with the palace holds the brew that is true.

I have no idea where this misinformation about the Thaumaturges supposed number buffs came from. Wand does 1 more damage—or 3 more every other round—and scales no differently. The healing from Chalice also only increased for the Intensify Vulnerability version, which takes your full turn to use, and it didn't increase by that much, just another third (or fifth if the Adept benefit is active).

Personally, psychic not getting to have a temporary 4th focus point through a class feature makes me think necromancer is not getting its own "remove a thrall to regain a focus point once per 10 minutes" feature from the playtest.

I'm mostly just disappointed that psychic continues to lag behind pretty much every other caster. I really like the flavor but it just doesn't feel worth it. I'd be better off playing basically any other occult caster and flavoring it to feel more like a psychic.

imma drop my two cents on this, i think the nerf was somewhat justified - but i also think Psychic's base kit needs some extra buff somewhere. There are so many cool ideas over at the reddit too.
