The Turkic peoples are a diverse group of peoples whose languages belong to the Turkic language family. They are spread across a vast region stretching from Eastern Europe and the Caucasus through Central Asia and Siberia to parts of China and the Middle East.
The Turkic world includes many different peoples, such as Turks, Azerbaijanis, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, Turkmens, Tatars, Bashkirs, Uyghurs, and many others. Although they have distinct cultures, histories, and local identities, they share important linguistic and historical connections.
Throughout history, Turkic peoples have played a major role in Eurasia, establishing numerous states and empires and contributing significantly to the region’s politics, trade, culture, and history.
