I think this also depends on where you live.

Using the american flag for english is diabolical. Like using the mexican flag for spanish. X)

Just by seeing the thumbnail and the title, I already knew the video creator was American.

My first language is Russian. I also know English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and learning Hindi.
Gotta say that one doesn't have to learn a language by usefulness necessarily - you need to learn a language that you feel predisposed to or like the culture of, the one that you like.

Russian is also spoken in post Soviet countries, like Spanish

I don't think you understand if you speak italian you've simultaneously unlocked other latin languages.

1:21 Note for non-Portuguese speakers (as a native speaker from Portugal): the audio is in BRAZILIAN Portuguese -- if ur gonna learn it, most ppl learn Brazilian PT bc it the sounds R more open, grammar is simplified, and it's overall easier to master. Downside is it gets confused with Portugal Portuguese a lot tho 😅 (what can I say, wee got there in 1500, imprinted the language we had at the time on them, and from then on it kinda developed with a mind of its own, more or less) lol

Maybe this list makes some sense for USA, but for European and for Asian countries it would be completely different.

For example, for most European companies German is way more important then Spanish.

There is one very important factor that you also shouldnt forget about. The factor is how big is the percentage of language speakers that also speak English well. For example most french, dutch and German speakers will understand you if you will say something in English so it does make less sense to learn the language. And most Chinese, Russian and Japanese speakers don't speak English so it does make more sense to learn the language. Btw I wouldnt spend time to learn something other than English or chinese.

It depends on why and how you are going to use a language as well
For example, there may be only ~130 million Japanese speaker but it is the language of one of the top 5 world economy in the world so it may be useful for business purposes (same with most of the European countries as well)

Here are a couple of things I have to mention:
1-Mandarin is an easy language if we consider its grammar. Conjugation and articles (words like “the”) literally don’t even exist.
2-For Arabic you’re probably referring to Modern Standard Arabic, but no one in the Arabic countries speak Modern Standard Arabic daily even if most understand it. In their daily lives, Arabs speak a bunch of different Arabic languages, but the ones that are geographically closer between them might have mutual understanding. Egyptian Arabic is one of the Arab languages that are better identified in the Arab world due to the exposure of this variety in movies and other things.

As an Italian, our language is a 0/10. Almost nobody in Italy willingly speaks the academic version of Italian and instead prefers to speak in dialect. The academic version is only used on television (and of course in all types of media) and when we communicate between different regions. But even in these cases, the accent and some dialectal words almost always slip out while speaking. So if you plan on going to live in Italy, you’ll also have to learn the region’s dialect.

I think learning japanese is useful, because you can make vocaloid songs (only if yk how to make music)
