She lived her dream with passion. I admire people like that! Bravo Florence! You were an artist at heart! You hurt nobody, and helped so many!

Respect the words of her “People may say I can't sing, but no one can ever say I didn't sing.”!

For me, one of the saddest parts was seeing pictures of her flat in New York City with walls and virtually every surface covered with pictures and things that were meaningful to her and knowing that upon her death that whole precious lifetime of memories and meaning will be destroyed, some saved, some taken by relatives, perhaps other going to people who would value it, but anything renaming would have gone to Freshkyll landfill across the river. Those pictures of her rooms remind me how brief and ethereal all our lives and how little, if anything, is left of us.

"It was the consensus of opinion that she never sang better"  Quite true, I'm sure.

At first I laughed and laughed at Florence Foster Jenkins singing. But then I found myself listening and thinking she ALMOST had it and probably did better than I could. I don’t know why but listening makes me feel happy.

Nowadays they'd just Auto-tune her and everything would be hunky-dory.

Let us not kid ourselves , this documentary is excellent as well. Very funny , witty and full of delicious irony

This is an excellent introduction to Meryl Streep's "Florence Foster Jenkins" as it explains some things about the woman that the movie barely touches.  Streep mimics Foster 's voice perfectly.

As a university  student in the 1970's, I worked in the school of music.  We had a library filled with obscure and rare recordings...including a recording of Florence Foster Jenkins.  It was very popular among the music majors who studied in that library.  
I often wondered about that "bird lady"  (so named by the music majors for her squawking and chirping attempts at runs and trills)  and what drove her to sing when she had no talent.  This documentary answered all my questions.   Now to learn there's a movie about her starring Meryl Streep(!) gives me great satisfaction on Mrs. Jenkins' behalf.

How many of us have the courage? Even in death she has a captive audience

This gives insight into a life well lived.  Mrs. Jenkins was so much more than the laughingstock we have been shown in the media.  Well done

Her story reminds me of the movie "Lars and the Real Girl".   Lars was delusional and believed a sex doll that he bought on the internet was a real woman, and he loved her.  But rather than trying to make him believe he was delusional (which wouldn't have worked anyhow), the whole town went along with his delusions.   There was no mockery.  It was done out of kindness, and in the end it allowed him to overcome his delusions.   Florence's friends apparently felt the same way about her.   They weren't cruel, they were being kind to a person they liked and admired and nobody was harmed by it .

I was having an aweful day yesterday and stumbeled across Florence Foster Jenkins and she sheered me up. Almost as if I was meant to find out about her.

I've loved FFJ since first hearing her in the mid-80s. It's no exaggeration to say that us first-study singers at London College of Music were falling out of our seats with laughter! Learning more about FFJ's life, especially her awful illness, I've developed respect for her courage. Thank you for this fascinating documentary - long live Madam Florence!

You can imagine how popular this docu. will become after the movie comes out next year. Meryl Streep will be the great singer. The film will be released in 2016. Jenkins will finally become famous to millions. I can remember in the 50s, when we had one of her lps, my mother would put it on when a party might get moody. The excitement that Jenkins could create would bring merriment to the room. Madame Jenkins was one of the great moments that no one forgets.

I'm 50 years out of college where I studied music. In fact, I was born the year she died. One of my classmates got hold of her record and we  played it as undergrads and laughed and laughed, But there was a great deal more to the lady and she did indeed love music and did a lot to promote it during her tragic life.

Saw the movie "Florence Foster Jenkins" with a friend last evening. I watched this video first and it gave added insight to the film.
What a tragically dear woman who loved music more than one would have thought prudent. She and St. Clair Bayfield were a story of true love and devotion not seen in many relationships.Great video.

I watched the Movie today. Had no idea someone like florence existed. Honestly haven't laughed this hard in a long time when I heard the real thing. Music should make you feel things, I give her that. A true comedian & entertainer although that surely wasn't her intension.

Thanks to whomever posted this documentary.  I've been on the hunt to learn about Florence Foster Jenkins since hearing about the Meryl Streep film.  I guess when you have enough money, it' possible to live in  state of total delusion.

The very final song shows how cleverly the accompanist was able to follow her erratic slowings down and speedings up. Mr Collup has made an excellent documentary, which I found having just seen the film. I hope you don't mind if I respectfully point out a few small errors, though.  St Clair is pronounced Sinclair, not Saint Clair. The narrator also confusingly states St Clair Bayfield was the illegitimate grandson of a lord.  Not exactly.   It is his mother who was the illegitimate daughter of a lord. She made a very respectable marriage to a clergyman and therefore Bayfeld himself was not illegitimate. At 15:33  “By 1916 Dr Jenkins had died.” Wrong: he died on 13 June 1917. At 1:20:31 the on-screen text should read “36 years” not “26 years”. At 1:22:10 the names shown onscreen here, Butler, John and Olive, were the half-siblings of Florence’s father. The grandchildren of these three, who inherited her money, were not step relatives because "step" implies no blood kinship. Nor were they nephews and nieces – they were Florence’s first cousins once removed. The Sunday Mirror news clipping wrongly calls them second cousins, and the same error is made by Nicholas Martin and Jasper Rees, authors of the 2016 biography of Florence. An easy mistake to make as many people don't understand the complexities of cousins once removed, second cousins and so on.
