Kudo's to you for putting together a banger of a video, while not feeling your best. You kept my interest throughout and the payoff was well worth it.

Finally, an album that I also have/had.

Get well soon Craig. You're a hero.

Thanks for mentioning the golden spiral as one to avoid. I think it’s one of the composition rules which is slapped as an overlay on images and then some people try to show how the image was created with that in mind. More often than not I don’t really see what they want to point out. Maybe it’s me being ignorant, but I can live very much without the golden spiral.

I use whatever I think is suitable for an image and I think sometimes subconsciously. Although that might sound like a good thing, I‘d prefer to use some techniques a bit more intentionally.

Get better soon mate.

Get well soon Craig! I completely agree with your views on composition too!

Hope you get relief from your neck pain soon - that can't be enjoyable to live with. Great composition advice as always. You've given me so many things to ponder over the years that have helped me when I'm out and about - I appreciate it.

Get better soon.
Greetings from Málaga.

Hi Craig, my favourite Composition is Leading Lines. Another helpful video. I hope you're feeling better soon. Thanks Craig 😊

Get well soon Craig!Always helpful videos

Sorry Craig, I know what this feels, like, having slipped a disk in my back.  As for my favorite photo composition, I agree with you, I use what feels right to me.
I had to go to art school to learn the formal rules you listed, and understand how my compositions worked and why.  This did help me to strengthen my compositions and understanding how something works is important, and leads to growth in your work.  Get well soon mate.
Cheers

Speedy recovery!

I think, my favourites are leading lines & layering. Get well soon sir!

feel better! I recently moved to the uk - perhaps it's time to book a workshop with you :)

Once had an argument with an instructor - he said you need to know all the rules so when you break them you know why... My argument was if you are going to break them why bother learning them. Each image follows its own rules.

That's exactly what I've always called it when asked, For that image it was what felt good, or right,  Love your presentation style

Excellent video, lots of thought to bear in mind for my future photographs. Thank  you.

Thanks for doing this besides your health challenge - doing great as always. Hang in there!
This time I saw it coming 😉 having learned them, ignoring them all and only occasionally using them to complement and nearly finished composition.

As always a very good and informative vid. And I’m pleased to say that I e tried all, except of course the golden ratio! Rest up and get well soon 👍🏽

Hiya Craig thanks for another interesting video, main thing though hope you get that painful problem sorted very soon. Best wishes mate.
