I promise we’ll still keep finding your channel without ai pizza dumpster thumbnails. Thank you for your service clip channel 🫡

It’s perfectly okay to eat food off the floor when it’s pie from your attractive new neighbors.

Pat with the girls is just being with you guy friends while high.

The girls are eating garbage ❤

SOMEONES CLIPPNING ALL THIS??!, IMMEDIATELY SUBSCRIBED

Fridge your leftover rice and reheat it, with a damp paper towel if it's getting dry/crunchy, or use it for fried rice. This is basic asian household shit plzzzzzzz 😭

I can't believe Hina went full George Costanza at the end there

Do NOT leave rice in the rice cooker, even if it's on! Not only is it a fire hazard to leave that thing on and unattended for multiple days, it's not keeping the rice hot enough to prevent bacteria growth. In fact, it's just keeping it nice and warm, at the perfect temperature for maximum bacteria growth. You have a fridge for a reason!

9:30 They absolutely can just give it to charity (at least in the US), I’ve volunteered with a non-profit that just goes around to a bunch of local grocery stores, takes their food that is about to be past it’s sell by date, toss out everything that’s actually gone bad, and then deliver it to people who need it. Saying you have to throw it out is nonsense.

As someone who works in a Domino's I would NOT eat a pizza off the floor from any part of the store

They have those rules about giving away food because scarcity breeds value, and if people can get food/not starve without paying money, the price of food drops. As long as food is tied to the profit motive, there's an incentive to keep its price high, which means destroying it instead of giving it to people who need it.

Same with healthcare. Same with water. Same with housing. That's why the market doesn't allocate these resources with inelastic demand very well. Our single-minded devotion to using capitalistic methods of distribution for every single thing is going to kill us, as a species.

When I worked at Pizza Hut. when the lunch buffet would end. We would take all the leftover buffet pizza and put them in blue bins in the freezer that we would give to a local shelter/food kitchen. Thank god cause I couldn't handle the amount of waste that we would have had otherwise

I can actually add to this conversation, even if this was about 10 years ago.
For about a year or so I was sent to work at a food donation center for both collection and distribution, one of the items that was a no-go for donating was pre-packaged Sandwiches.
May be a mix of short shelf-life or it becomes harder to keep track of the state of preparations and the likelihood of contaminants, it would often go into the staff mini-fridge and was encouraged to eat instead.

EDIT: Probably around 2014-15, I remember talking with one of the other guys there about Resurrection 'F' getting its first couple trailers.

If you work at a grocery store and you saw someone steal food, no you didn't.

Now, if you work at a grocery store and you saw a dipshit college kid steal a bottle of Hennessey, that's a different thing. That's entirely within your own moral purview as to whether that kind of theft is acceptable.

But, like, if a homeless guy grabbed one of the cooked rotisserie chickens, you didn't see a fucking thing.

I just put the pot from the rice cooker with the rice in the fridge

Wtf is this? These ladies are hilarious!!! More please!

5:20 A very Canadian mentality lol

1:40 Ok I have to say this as someone who's familiar with the professional standards for food handling safety: SHE'S RIGHT!!! A room temperature bowl of rice left overnight is really bad, but fancy rice cookers that hold them at high temperatures CAN keep the rice for several days and it's food safe. We're so used to having access to refrigeration that it's the only way we tend to think of safe perishable food storage, but you can ALSO keep food held above 135°F/57°C which similarly prevents bacterial growth exactly like refrigeration does. In fact, cooling food is one of the most common failure points in commercial settings for safe food storage because the amount of time it takes for a large mass of hot food to go below 41°F/5°C, even in a freezer, is often multiple hours because the center of the food will still be in the 'danger zone' of temperature much longer than the edges of the container. Food storage through heating is actually much more consistent and safer in that regard because it's far faster, it's just very rare in household cooking nowadays because of things like unattended flames and developed countries not relying on soup-based staple dishes as much anymore (it's relatively easy to keep 5 gallons of soup simmering for 4 days straight but you can't do the same by putting i.e. dry chicken in a hot pan without it turning into a rock).

It's really only because of western cultural backgrounds that the notion of keeping rice in the cooker overnight or longer is foreign to us/Pat. In Asian households where rice is a daily staple, and rice cookers are a heavily-used major appliance (compared to non-Asian households which might only have very basic rice cookers that are single-button glorified hot plates with a simple bowl inside, or which might just cook rice with a pot on the stovetop), keeping rice in the cooker for multiple days is extremely normal because serious rice cookers are made to do that. Because it's a legitimate and safe means of food storage. You sometimes even see it adapted in anime where characters are depicted cooking or at least getting plates of food, there are often already-filled rice cookers just loaded with like pounds of rice more than what a family would eat over the course of a day- that isn't shows 'forgetting' to depict characters making rice, they're just depicting the reality of having a rice cooker that's filled with rice at all times.

Anyways, keeping suitable foods at a high holding temperature is completely safe and valid and even outside of the context of rice cookers, it used to be the primary way that humans stored food when it couldn't be preserved through methods like salt curing, fermenting, or drying. Keeping a huge pot of stew (pottage) simmering or near-simmering over a flame all day or for multiple days in a row was the default in much of Europe for a very long time. You wake up, toss a few more potatoes and carrots in there, and that's another day's lunch. Point is, acting like having rice kept hot in your cooker for a few days is super dangerous or gross is just a product of people reflexively inferring what safe food storage 'is' based on their familiarity with food storage, rather than the realities of what's actually safe. It's totally fine and she's RIGHT!!!!!

Pat’s grocery store story is really similar to my restaurant cook story except that the policy for the restaurant I worked at was that we didn’t want people to get food that they didn’t pay for because they considered it a net loss.

Whenever I asked how giving the food away was a loss but throwing it in the fucking garbage wasn’t they fed me this bullshit about how someone COULD have payed for it, so it counts as food that was stolen.

Based Pat!! If you are hungry you should steal the food from your job!!
