All tips are appreciated!! Thank you and see you on the next video!

Jerry played this for his Dad and asked if he got close. His dad said "You nailed it."

The fact that this song brought a father and son a little closer together is beautiful.

I’m 75 years old.  Every time I see, hear this tune and a few others. Slip back to serving overseas.  Shot at in America wearing the uniform and then left behind serving overseas. I’m a trained Navy veteran,  combat engineer,  Seabee Builder.  Suffering is unknown in American. Serving in the military can be intolerable .  Duty First, always.  Pity I had for the locals broke my heart.  Always,  confront a liars and thieves.

I had a sweet, handsome, funny cousin spent two tours in Nam.  He was a Sargent in the bush - hard core.  Something went wrong and some of his men died.  He came back and was still funny, sweet and handsome, but he spent the rest of his life in and out of alcohol and drug detox at Ft. Benning GA Veterans Hospital.  I love you Sgt. Donald Robinson.

Grunge music's disaffected, depressed, soul makes a lot of sense when you realize it was written by the drug addicted sons of Vietnam war vets

Layne's voice is incredible
He is missed
Heartbreaking 💔

Dad did 2 tours in vietnam. He jumped outta helicopters, army. He came back mean as heck. Agent orange took his legs, but, at that time, late 60s early 70s, the vibe was different. I grew up with the best music EVER. Real shame they lost Layne and Mike. Much respect for the playing of this absolutely badass song. Peace and love, ya'll.

Laynes voice is like a thousand lost souls screaming at once. Truly, beautifully cryptic. There wont soon be another like him.

My condolences to his band and family and especially to his fellow legend Jerry.

Quite simply one of the greatest songs of all time.

I ran a small town country bar/ game room, just got a new wyfy jukebox and huge TV on the wall. This came up on video music channel and I witnessed my uncle reaction 😢 Quietly standing in the corner with his pool stick frozen looking at the video. ❤ With a sad smile said that is "some real shit right there" and they did a great job and he would have loved to have had that blarring out his chopper. He never talked about it and wouldn't watch movies of war. Vietnam 😢 and then they came back to be treated like dirt, Military men and women still are not getting what they deserve for serving the country. We can do better by them.

Nothing brings the pain of War like that "Rooster" video. That's tough stuff.

Drafted in'66-'68 at 19,sent to Vietnam,I volunteered for door gunner on Army slicks,1st.Aviation brigade.13 Battalion. Can Tho airfeild.I became a machine gun man hanging out of a hughey with a m-60 watching tracers coming up at me and I'm sending back my own as fast as that pig would shoot. They couldn't kill me either.Rooster always takes me back to those hellish days during the Tet offensive.Warrior 18(shot down) during the Tet OffensiveSo proud to have served with all those young brave American badasses.

This is about Jerry Cantrell the guitarist’s father the man you see in the beginning of the video! He’s the Rooster!

Layne had, in my opinion,  the greatest rock voice of all time.  It's a shame he's gone.

Any war is never a good thing, but the Vietnam War/Conflict was a waste of life for this Country. Those dudes put it on the line only to be treated like chit by the very government and people the represented when they returned home. As a 57 year old man who served 101st Airborne Division Ft. Campbell KY. A82 11B and saw no combat in any war, I absolutely respect ALL those who lost their lives, their souls, their minds, and their hearts for doing what our Government felt was in our Countries best interest. On a footnote, AIC will always be on my 'stay list" ... their music has gotten me through some tough days the past  23 years. RIP Layne, you are missed by many, especially this 57 year old man.

The 90’s will forever be great! 😢

This definitely a good Alice In Chains for a mashup. It's cool doing this on Memorial Day weekend too.

Lane is also dead . What is wrong with all these great singers from Seattle , Kurt Cobain , Chris Cornell . From my favorite Seattle bands only Pearl Jam is still with their original singer Eddie Vedder. Alice in Chains made my 90's a little more bearable. Soundgarden and Nirvana are no more . Some fantastic music was made in that city ,Seattle.

I love the amazement in the reactors faces when they hear Layne’s phenomenal vocals for the first time especially in this song. Whilst Layne may not have been technically perfect, he had a natural talent with unique powerful vocals that were sung with genuine emotion that cannot be faked or can be taught by vocal training.

A big shoutout to Jerry Cantrell who is a phenomenal songwriter who didn’t shy away from writing about very personal, sensitive and controversial subjects. AIC as a band is truly one of the all time greats. RIP Layne Staley and Mike Starr. 😢
