The Paulette Gebara Farah case told in full: how a four-year-old girl disappeared on March 22, 2010, from her home in Interlomas, State of Mexico, and reappeared nine days later in her own bed, in a room that had already been searched by forensic experts, agents, dogs, and reporters.
Seventy-one minutes, with thirteen recreated roles in addition to the narrator. And the fact that sets it apart from almost all the others: there was no trial, no sentence, and no one was charged with anything.
What exists is an administrative decision. On May 21, 2010, the Attorney General of the State of Mexico, Alberto Bazbaz Sacal, read four pages with nine conclusions in ten minutes—accidental death, no criminal charges against anyone—and left without taking questions. Four days later he resigned; on May 31, his successor publicly apologized to the family. No judge has ever read the full details of this case, which remains archived sixteen years later.
So this video doesn't point fingers. It recounts the nine days an entire country searched for a missing girl outside her home—twenty billboards, one hundred officers, two canine units, thirty-eight thousand square meters—and the sixty days a prosecutor's office discredited itself.
And it separates documented evidence from what's circulating. There was no three-hour blackout in the building: there was a luminol test with the lights off on March 29th and cameras that weren't recording. The "impossible pajamas" were two identical pairs of pajamas, as the Prosecutor's Office itself explained in an official video titled "Paulette: About the Pajamas." It was nine days, not ten; 83 statements, not 85; and the resignation came on May 25th.
Research, script, voices, and editing: Juanma (Voces del Caso).
PRODUCTION NOTICE: All voices are synthesized: the narrator, the channel's announcements, and thirteen recreated roles. These aren't recordings; they're self-declared reenactments, and none of them say anything the real person didn't say at the time. The mother, father, and older sister have no voice here: their words are read by the narrator or the voiceover, along with the date and source.
ABOUT WHAT ISN'T TOLD
A four-year-old girl with motor and speech disabilities died. Her body isn't shown, nor is the bed where she was found, nor the forensic video, and there's no description of how she was found: the autopsy expressly ruled out physical and sexual violence. Her older sister, a minor in 2010 and now a private citizen, doesn't appear. And none of the people investigated—the parents, the two nannies, and the friend who slept in that bed—were ever charged with anything: the Attorney General's Office apologized to them on May 31, 2010.
