As I stated in the video, Boox has already issued a fix for the random crashes!  Check your devices for the update!  Thanks, Boox!!

This is the type of youtube content I like: honest review, no clear bias due to relationships with manufacturer.

Thank you for your review, I will consider to buy one of Lumi for my PDF reading.

Great review.  Clear and honest.  I have been following e ink channels for 4 years and seen the channles grow. I had many favourites and learned a lot that helped me through my decisions.  I feel today you are at the top of this game and your content is fantastic!

This is the best Lumi review so far. Very transparent about issues and honest about your user experience. I agree with the points you made. This is the best value out if you are shopping for a eink note taker. I also like the front light more than I thought I would. It’s hard for me to use another eink tablet now. Awesome video!!!!!

My first non-Amazon reader / note pad. I really like it. You were one I watched a lot comparing devices. I really needed Play store so I could get my Bible app and Kindle app. I really like it except battery life is a bit shorter gap than I’m used to, even with front light off. Reading experience is excellent. Thanks for helping me choose.

Grazie per la tua opinione. Domani mi arriverà il Lumi e non vedo l'ora di provarlo!!

I agree completely with the pen flap, I'm getting crazy trying to put it without it looking super wonky

I guess for someone like me that just need mihon on it with my kavita server access this device will pretty much perfect. I dont use these devices as a note taker or anything like that

Thanks for this David!

Thanks for the review

Hi,
Good!
Thank you!

Great review, David.

Great video. I think you are spot on in a lot of your comments. I also find the hand fatigue to be a real thing I don't get with the Gen I, but I love the writing feel. I also agree it isn't quite as good as EMR so far, but not bad at all. I have only had one crash where touch input stopped and took two restarts. I do wish BOOX had held off on releasing 4.2 until the calendar was able to handle either filtering out calendars shared with me or just pulled in my primary calendar. As to value, I agree that it is a tremendous value for some people but that is somewhat subjective. Short-Term value, 100 percent. Long term and upgradeable, maybe not. I really love how you present and frame it through your lense though.

HUAWEI MatePad Paper 10.3

Good clear video! Following you since a while from Italy!

Thanks.

As always a great review. You always cover both the positive and negative aspects of the devices. For me personally I have two use cases, one where I can record meetings and one where I can’t. I have the Supernote and the AINOTE , both sizes of each device. Some of my meetings are strictly no recording, so I use the Supernote at those and the AINOTE otherwise. I have found a use for the 8 inch AINOTE, which is really useful when they dim the lights for a power point presentation the front light is very helpful. Just saying. I like the legal pad size for taking notes, just 50 years of classes and meetings.

THANKS for sharing! I am glad that you have a level of high confidence that Boox is going to address what is causing the issues for some people. I REALLY like my device, hardware, software, EXCEPT for, the inordinate amount of crash/reboot in the Notes app, which is unfortunately where I spend 90% of my time on the device.

Well thought through video. I like the clarity of your thinking about what is important for your use case. Mine is very similar EXCEPT for PDF. As a lecturer I need good PDF handling and reading. I'm waiting a wee bit to see if a larger version with a front light is released...
