The dozen or so numbers listed on your health checkup form. But doctors only really look at a small fraction of them.

"What should I do if I get a 'C' rating?"—This is the most common question I hear in outpatient clinics. ALT, γ-GTP, HbA1c, creatinine. You're handed a paper filled with technical terms and told, "Let's wait and see," but you put it away without knowing what to do. That's the most wasteful way to interpret it.
In this lesson, we'll discuss the blood test items that doctors actually look at when they receive health checkup results, in a ranking format of the 7 worst.
The first half covers "Numbers to Watch Out For." Seventh place: Albumin (the foundation of nutrition and physical strength), sixth place: γ-GTP (a signal of distress from the liver and bile ducts), fifth place: potassium (a mineral that lowers blood pressure), fourth place: creatinine (why even normal levels aren't reassuring).
The second half focuses on "life-threatening numbers." Third place: LDL cholesterol, second place: ALT (the degree of liver damage), and first place: HbA1c. The normal range is 4.6-6.2%, and we'll explain what a number like 6.5% means in particular.
Finally, here are three action plans you can start today: ① Drink a glass of water when you wake up ② Take the stairs instead of the elevator ③ Eat vegetables first, then protein. You don't need to do all of them. Choose one that you think you can do.
This lesson is intended for people in their 40s to 70s who have their health checkup results and their families.
