I think Dean's full quote was" Hadlee is just another bowler. He bowls with the same ball, and it will travel just as fast to the fence". Turned out the only thing that travelled regularly to the fence was Dean Jones.

1:22 "Of course a quality player like myself got a bat on that, lesser (low quality)players would've missed it."
Dean Jones,2016

R.I.P Dean Jones from a kiwi who's watched from afar and saw that genius...rest easy big guy..very sad

If Richard was bowling to Brett Lee and dismissed him they would say Richard Had Lee.

So sad to watch this after hearing Dean Jones death, thoughts go out to his family and friends. Indeed he was one of the best Australian batsmen.

hahah,  brilliant stuff "Didn't sledge - I wasn't in long enough to sledge him ... sadly .." Respect :-)

Oh Deano, I am really sad. That voice sharpness of your voice and positive attitude towards cricket will be missed. My father survived a heart attack last year and You have brought all the memories back. Literally tears in my eyes as i am typing 'Going going gone'
See you in heavens Deano.

People say hadlee is one of the smartest bowler in strategizing how to bowl to a batsman. He analyzes the batsman weaknesses and bowls accordingly.

Sir Richard Hadlee and Dean Jones two great cricketing legends

RIP DeanJones..thank you for being such a flamboyant cricketer, thank u for giving us those days, when you played  cricket in a true gentleman style.

And today he’s no more 😢
I will never forget his famous words of his commentary “Going Going gone”

A revolutionary, a controversial and unique character, a comedian and an all around great guy... he is Dean Jones...

Rest Easy Deano RIP

So sad dean jones died due to heart attack deep condolences to his family such a amazing guy RIP😢😢😢😭😭😭

I'll never forget the three-ball duck at Adelaide (this video only shows the third ball) - it made it obvious how good Hadlee was at out-thinking batsmen. Hadlee (with a point to prove after Jones's comments in the papers) steamed in and bowled three fast, short-pitched balls which were all waist-chest high by the time they got to Jones. They were quick. I think Jones defended the first two and then nicked the third. It still remains the best micro-lesson in the art of bowling I've ever seen. At the time I thought Jones was arrogant, but having seen him in this video I've changed my mind and enjoy his self-deprecating humour.

RIP Jones 🙏

My faviourte player Dean Jones because of his sense of humor along with his tremendous ability as a batsman.Fleming reaction was epic when Deno described about his bowling.Respect from India.

Rip "Deano" you will be remembered forevevr and ever♥️♥️♥️

Great stuff! The ball literally talked out of Sir Hadlee's hand .. have not seen anything like it since!

I remember chanting "Hadlee's a w*nker" on the hill at the SCG.
Seriously, he was New Zealand's DK Lillee. An exceptional bowler.

Like every other cricket tragic, trawling through Dean Jones videos after his sad passing away earlier today in India.  Genuinely great bat whose career was cut short by Bob Simpson and others.  As an ex-pat Kiwi those duels v the master Hadlee were epic (sometimes very brief), but Deano was a one off.  His 210 in Madras is one of the greatest Test innings of all time, and before Michael Bevan in ODI's there was Viv Richards and there was Dean Jones.  That's as good as it gets.  RIP Deano
