I've been building birdhouses for decades, haven't had one complaint 😂.  I really like this design, I will definitely be building a few of these. I'm impressed that you follow the rules for small birds, an anti-predator protection ring, and no perch. I'm sub'd, and you get a like. Keep up the good work.

1"-1 1/4" Bird entry hole, Forstner bit and drill press before you assemble. Much easier

So happy to see that you don't put the peg on the front. so many people build with putting them on and it only serves as a roost for preditor birds to land on and get at the birds inside. Great videos. Nice to see someone who makes things that don't have to be perfect. I'm a machinist by trade and the hardest thing for me when I started woodworking was stopping myself from trying to be perfect. When machining steel and aluminum it's fairly easy to be darn close to perfect. Not so much with wood. It took me a long time to figure that out and just
relax and have fun. On a more serious note. I grew up in a household that logged cedar on the west coast. Please wear a respirator when sanding and working with cedar. I've seen the downside to breathing cedar dust. It is not a pretty ending. Keep the great videos coming. I appreciate watching you and your style of teaching.

You could also use a forstner bit on the inside where your ferule won’t be sticking out. Less chance of fledglings injuring themselves because cables stab lol. Really nice build. Drill holes for ventilation at peak and two on the bottom. 1/2” would be plenty.
