In this video, I give an honest, in-depth review of Western Governors University (WGU) to answer the question: is WGU actually worth it? I break down the cost, accreditation, how the online competency-based learning model works, job outcomes after graduation, and whether a WGU degree holds up in the eyes of employers. If you're considering enrolling in Western Governors University and want a real, no-BS take from someone who's been through it, this video is for you.

On my channel I teach a simple method that has helped students earn Bachelor’s Degrees in record time! My method teaches you how to graduate WITHOUT textbooks homework, quizzes, group projects, lesson plans, study guides and more…

Who is Ryan Swayt?

I was a 2 time college dropout working a $12 an hour job, with a family to support. I was desperate for a better future. Long story short, I found a better way. I earned an entire Bachelor’s Degree in just 9 months and found a career I love. This process has changed my life, now I want to teach others how to do the same.

It was absolutely worth it for me! I completed my bachelor's in 25 days! I did all of the coursework for my masters in less than three months!

Thank you for explaining honestly coming from a high school student who actually jumped into the worst decision which is going to University of Phoenix and YES they are always on investigation and YES with there scamming people and families who are very vulnerable to take out loans just to go to the college and stay at the program with falsely saying the graduates work in major tech companies and I heard from many people about downgrading university of Phoenix knowing it closed down where I was living at the time and honestly I had enough where I dropped because I didn’t work and how am I supposed to pay off loans? I decided to go to a community college that was the best option I graduated with my A.S. degree and one of my computer science professors had said something about WGU and I wasn’t really convinced but now I am honestly

As usual, excellent content, Ryan! These stats on potential earnings for WGU grads are inspiring, especially the comparative values presented. Thank you for elucidating the possibilities.
I 💗 messages that instill hope for a future; this video perfectly fulfills that.

I had an amazing experience at WGU obtaining my Bachelors in Marketing & Business Management in 2016. Like you, with grants, I paid less than $300 for 10 months of study all while working a full time job. I'm strongly considering going back for my MBA. I've just been making excuses. Let the journey begin again.

I know you have a video for international students, but it is outdated. Could you make a new video updating the university options? Which international university allows Degree Hacking and holds the same level of prestige as WGU? I am in the IT field and intend to pursue a prestigious Master's degree in the US in the future. To ensure my application is accepted, I need this Bachelor's degree to be from an institution as recognized as WGU. What are your thoughts on Purdue Global? Do you have any other recommendations?

@WelcomeMrPatrick 1 month ago

Would it be possible to achieve this from the UK, like any methods to be accepted? I would be opting for a IT/Techical Networking/Cloud degree.

Do you do consulting? I just found your videos and they are inspiring. You keep mentioning people you help or work with? I have questions. I have 2 AS with a dental hygiene backround and currently taking stats with Sophia so I can transfer. I want a remote job with a dental tech or health tech company. Maybe sales but that involves way more travel. What specific degree in the business or marketing space would you recommend, I’m leaning towards WGU . Thank you Ryan!

Hi Ryan, I'm currently doing my Gen Ed on Sophia and will be doing a few on Study. I'm going to enroll at WGU for B.S Software Engineering. Is it still a good degree, especially since they upgraded it to have Physics, lab and Calculus?

if someone just got out of High School and taking the BS in IT.. will they be able to complete in 4 months 7 days?

@m2168-o1j 1 month ago

If I sign up for your services, what exactly is it that you provide along the way ?

WGU gets that high rate of income because most people using it are already in their career and using the degree to advance.

@Jurmyhyle12 1 month ago (edited)

It's only worth it if you can get scholarships or tuition program to pay for it. Also you need to be realistic about someone with a full time job and kids being able to "hack" a degree. You can hack it if you have nothing but time.

@cbmath14 11 days ago

I believe WGU was well worth it, but I am always a bit disheartened to see videos and posts about people doing "speed runs" through a degree program. The competency based model does allow you to move quickly thgough courses where you have prior knowledge, but earning a Bachelors in 4 months does not sit right with some people.

Hi Ryan, you have inspired a family member to get a WGU degree and he has tried to set up a 1-on-1 to discuss how to accelerate his degree. However, he says September is fully booked on your site! Is there a way he can get to speak with someone within the next couple of weeks? He wants to start asap.
