Full disclosure this is an Amazon affiliate link, but this doesn’t raise the price of the book. But feel free to just look up the book yourself if you prefer. Totally up to you. Additionally https://joshmumbi.creator-spring.com/listing/the-survivor-collection-2025

Sounds much similar to how nobody can figure out how Epstein went from a teacher to having a black book of every politician phone number.

Having grown up around dispensationalists I always wondered where they got those weird thoughts. They confidently pat their Bible and say it is in the Bible. I read the Bible many times and can't find that theory anywhere. Then I heard about Scofield and it all fell in to place. The same end times ferver that gave rise to the JWs and the 7th Day Adventists had its influence in what I had thought was normal Evangelical Christianity. I had no idea prior as to how misled the Evangelical Church has been

The more I look into dispensationalism and it's history the more suspicious it gets

There's an article that mentioned that every student of theology in England was given a copy of the newly printed Scofield Bible as reference for their studies after the first print of this reference Bible.

A lot of evangelicals believe you're not a Christian if you don't take wholesale everything taught in dispensational theology

Oxford's complicity is mind blowing - clearly they were given an offer they couldn't refuse

Another point is that Schofield was sponsored to go to Switzerland to work on this project by Samuel Utermeyer and his Zionist friends.
He was there at or near the same time as Theodore Hertzl, the founder of Zionism. I have nowhere seen evidence that Scofield and Hertzl ever met, but the coincidence is suggestive.

Also, I believe that Oxford University Press was a major publisher of Bibles, but I don't know if there were any reference Bibles with notes published before the Scofield. Then copies were gifted to the major Bible school teachers such as Moody's Bible, Bible Institute of Los Angeles, and the most influential Dallas Theological. What Bible do you think the students would buy, and then what Bibles would they preach from? What Bibles would their congregation buy. The key quote of Christian Zionist refers to Genesis 12:3, but they are not quoting the passage, but Scofield's notes printed at the bottom of the page. But in their mind, they are quoting the Bible. I believe the Schofield Bible is the most impactful publication of the 20th century, and most people know nothing about it.
The points above are not my own research but are from multiple authors making these claims. Documenting this is worthy of a PhD. candidacy.

I grew up in a Darbyite Brethren family, and I was used to seeing Bibles with Scofield notes and commentaries, and my mother gave me two of such (KJV and NIV), but I guess I never got around to taking the Scofield bits seriously. I thought for years that the textual evidence for Millennial Dispensationalism was a bit thin, and I also noticed the absence in Brethren ranks of people with history degrees. Their favourite writers tended to bend over backwards to alter the historical facts to suit their particular narrative, particularly when it came to the End Times and the "revived Roman Empire" (Ulster Loyalists will tell you that it's the EU.)

We are warned about wolves in sheep clothing and here is a classic example. Never really understood where the political drive came from for national Israel until recently. Conservative reformed (gasp) christian and was never exposed to dispensationalism (thankfully) or Scofield although I've heard of him. Tragic part is that so many were/are so easily led astray, read the scriptures to see if it is so!

Half way through the video I noticed it has less than 1k views… how is that possible?? This is a great in depth analysis, keep up the great work

As a long time Christian, I knew nothing about the Scofield bible other than the name and that it had an extensive commentary. My son lit the fire under me to investigate Zionism and see if I was off base in my theology. Apparently I was. Thanks for this video about the background of Scofield & the origin of his bible.
