My mother's complete house rules: https://sukitanaka.com

When a storm comes to Ohio, I still prepare the way my mother did in Kyoto. In this video I share the eleven things every Japanese home keeps ready for a storm, and the simple reasons behind them. We start in the bathroom with one habit you can do tonight, then move through the drinking water in the closet, the bag by the front door, the light beside the bed, the charging shelf, the windows, and the patio chair in your yard. Then come three quiet systems: the rolling pantry, the walk after the storm, and the one day a year that keeps it all fresh. Nothing here is expensive. Most of it takes five minutes. Your house was never the problem. Nobody taught you the rules.

Which rule does your home already follow? Tell me in the comments. Stay safe, and stay dry.
