NOTED. This is one of the real 1's.

Great documentary. One of the most under rated guitarists in modern music.

I liked when he got choked up talking music, I feel you dude. Music is a part of us and when it fuckin connects it hits deep.

He is a very humble person 😊😊😊

This film was released in 2014
Let it be on YouTube

I'm not even a slipknot fan but this dude gets full respect from me. what a lover of music and one stellar musician. good for him and every accomplishment he has ever earned. I'm now a fan. Jim, you rule bro.

Jim Root is an exceptional guitar player.  He can adapt to multiple genres and has a huge bag of tricks. I'm not a huge fan of Stone Sour, but the stuff he does with Slipknot is amazing

I never realized Stone Sour had been going for so long i thought Corey had formed them after Slipknots success.
I really respect Jim's honesty and openness about his life and absolutely love his guitar skills 😊

You need to post more of this slipknot stuff man

Jim Root. I'm going to turn 50 this year. It's because of you, God and my dead brother who gave me that nudge to pick up my guitar and continue learning. Thank you!! You are a positive influence

Jim is a soul full of light, there are some people that just do, even tough he talks about this and that and, hes just a kid full of love and light

My only claim to fame is when my band SL8 opened for Stone Sour who was playing as Super Ego, at House of Bricks in Des Moines. Every band knows that when there's 3 bands.. The second slot is the best.. Because time wise it's when the most people are there. So of course they played the second slot and we had to close. I gotta give Cory credit, he tried to tell everyone to stay and watch the last band.. Nope.. Everyone left lol. When I watched Jim play in Atomic Opera at the Runway back in the late eighties, I knew that guy had something special. Still can't believe one of the biggest bands in the world is from my local scene. Another band that almost made it out of here is Destrophy.

ngl... when Jim talks about having no time between album a tour cycles...that hit hard....self journey to welcome to the machine 🫶

Im just glad these guys got together. Their music is finally helping me get to the shit thats deep in my head n cant get to. I think tonight its gotta be earphone, The Gray Chapter max volume. Fuck hearing.

8:57 This is amazing. One of the first shows I ever saw was Slipknot,  with Mudvayne opening at The Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ, in 1999.
Change my life of music I listen to.

the 7:30 guitar solo after talking about his dad is fireee.

Jim is by far my favorite member of the band. We are definitely kindred spirits. He seems like such a down to earth good dude and seems to truly appreciate everything he has earned and i respect the hell out of that.

I saw them on Ozzfest 99.
I had no idea that Jim was so new to the band.
But...I didnt know much about them at all anyway.
I remember being pleasantly intrigued. " Whats up with these dudes in the outfits beatin on can's and screaming? Cool."
I liked em, but I had no idea that they would become THE metal band of the 00's.

The room Jim's talking in just makes me want to pick up a guitar and play.

Jims laugh is infectious
