Quick clarification on the Angeles Crest Highway running event:

I fully respect honoring fallen officers, first responders, service members, and anyone who has sacrificed for their community. That is not the issue.

My concern is with how public-road events are executed. In my case, I was just there reviewing cars, so the delay was annoying but not catastrophic. But other people on that road could have been on their way to an important doctor’s appointment, a family obligation, work, the airport, or some other time-sensitive commitment. For them to be delayed 10–15 minutes through no fault of their own, with little or no obvious advance warning and no practical alternate route, is not right. A public memorial does not automatically justify making random drivers captive participants.

There is a right way and a wrong way to do this. The right way is advance notice, clear signage, short rolling traffic breaks, letting backed-up cars clear at reasonable intervals, and planning the route/timing to minimize disruption. The wrong way is making unrelated drivers sit indefinitely on a narrow mountain highway, on a 55 MPH highway, with no context and no practical way around.

Respecting the purpose of a memorial event and expecting organizers to respect the public’s time are not mutually exclusive.

The raw feeling of the DC2R is unmatched to any modern car these days. I will never get rid of mine and just keep on restoring and rebuilding it!

Nah man, thank YOU for making these videos.
I am, like a lot of people, cannot afford these cars and we don't have to connection or chances in general to experience them. Something about the way you describe the drive with such intelligence and passion that somehow make me feel like I have a faint understanding of what it will be like actually driving them. Keep up the good work man.

I had two Uncles who had ITRs during the 2000's and man you were a god being a passenger lol cuz everyone knew what car it was. 190hp stock with a LSD was unheard of

Thank you for making this video Mr! I have a Acura 2 door and its nice to hear a true VTEC engine make the iconic 4 cylinder induction noise! Makes me feel like I was at the wheel! As much as most will slobber at the Carrera (which I understand) most enthusiasts can also appreciate the agility and performance from the gem of Japan.

My boy had this and a 1994 black Honda prelude. This was in the early 2000s, and they were both upgraded to the max and in pristine condition. I always loved this car, but his prelude OMG. I don’t know what it was with that car, but it was so effing fast. And I loved the dash in that car with the digital speedometer! Both cars wild eat mustang GT and Camaro z/28s for lunch back in those days. Straight up sleepers!

It was my brother's 06 Mini R53 S that revealed my ignorance of FF cars. Now I own a Fiesta ST and its very cliche to say but I don't know if I'll ever sell it. IMHO it's value for performance, modern creature comforts is unmatched. The amount of abuse this little engine can take is incredible. I come from Toyotas so that's a big deal for me.

i missed out on my chance to own a DC2R when they were still newish but did get to ride in one around VIR, and it was phenomenal in skilled hands. i've been in a couple other lower trims over the years and i can say any sorted integra is a pleasure, honestly. i eventually found my way into a 2010 FA5 Si and that brought back so much of the Golden Era Honda feelings that i loved. they're certainly heavier and use a strut/multilink, but i can't recommend them enough for someone who wants the last modern interpretation of the NA Buzzsaw/6spd/LSD experience.
