I’m going 6hrs by train to look at one tomorrow. Then a 200 mile drive home so wish me luck

This is my car and I love it! Thanks to Jack for a great review.

Been on a 4 year journey with my 39k miler, rescuing it from a sorry state. Everything just about replaced and upgraded. Alfaholics handling kit, de cat exhaust, bigger discs and calipers, Quaife Diff. Its so different to other cars, the engine is beautiful and handles really well. Love it.

We had a 3.0 V6 spider until the birth of our first son, when we decided to become practical and sensible parents… and we bought a red GTV 3.0 V6 24V.😂 The rear is perfect to fit a child seat, and by removing the spare wheel we had plenty enough boot space. Practical! We loved that car❤

That V6 lovely. The GTV he tried belongs to a friend of mine, its a great example. He and his wife have loved owning it.

my father has a face 2 2.0v6tb. GTV is one of those cars you can park it next to everythink and still gets the look.

I remember the first Nuvola blue GTV we had at the dealership I worked at . I’d just gone into sales and took it out for a test drive to see what it was like , you know for product knowledge 😏 I absolutely floored it along a big long country road . I hit a bend at 80 mph and thought I was gonna go through a hedge but the thing just rotated and stuck to the road like glue .

I absolutely Love the GTV V6. It's just BEAUTIFUL.

Thanks for this new video featuring one of the most beautiful coupes of the last 30 years !
Cars that I love and that I have owned: specifically, I have owned 3! The first was a 1995 V6 Turbo, black, one of the first built, bought in 2004 with over 200,000 km and still running great! Never had any problems, I resold it when I bought a tuned Fiat Coupè Turbo 16v Plus with 300 hp (but that's another story...). In 2007 I bought a GTV 2.0 T.Spark 16v "limited edition" in light blue, bought for next to nothing because the first owner had encountered several problems since it was new and was literally exhausted. I kept it for 3 weeks... it had a lot of electronic problems. So I preferred to get rid of it: a gentleman took it and slowly got it back in order. After this one, I bought a 2.0 T.Spark 16v L, first series from 1995, red, also one of the first built. This one ran very well, it had been treated really well. I sold it when I bought a Bravo 2.0 20v HGT (but that's another story...).
Is the 916 GTV a true Alfa? In my opinion, yes: it has a truly recognizable design and is identifiable with the best creations from Arese. It drives excellently, its road holding is superior (despite those who denigrate front-wheel drive...). It brakes well, and the performance of the V6 engines (2.0 Turbo and 3.0 24V) lives up to the demands of a true Alfista, but even the 2.0 T.Sparks are fun to drive. The 1.8s, on the other hand, are a bit underpowered (let's not forget that it's a car that weighs almost 1,300 kg...).
These are well-built cars, both in terms of materials and assembly. They are robust (the reinforced Type 2 platform had the best torsional rigidity in that and the 916 GTV; thanks to only two doors and the reinforcements, it was truly robust). The engines are reliable if properly maintained. The only criticism: the 2.0 T.Spark has undersized bushings and must be checked frequently to avoid disastrous damage.
The 916 GTV gets a thumbs up....and your video too... Keep it up!

Originally these were made at Alfa plant in Arese, never at Fiat, later when Arese closed, they moved it to Pinifarina. Interestingly, the roots of the design go back to Pininfarina's concept Audi Quartz, which is ar ehibition at Audi Museum in ingolstadt.

Cupholders, shmuckholders i wouldnt have time for coffee id be too busy trying to keep it out of the hedges, thank god i was born at a time when i could see these beautiful cars on the road instead of the slop theyre dishing out now.

Reminds me of my 156 with the 2.5 Busso - excellent drive and sound:-)

Great car! Problem was, the 5-cyl Fiat was similarly prized, but faster, had a LSD, more practical, could comfortably seat 4, more frugal  and the interior was arguably a lot more stylish/better. And a LOT easier to tune to 300+ hp 😊
It simply had everything bar the multilink rear.

I love this car a lot. Honestly, I rarely see these anywhere, even online.

That engine was much better suited to the 75, which was a lot of fun.

The other day you tested my 1st car, the Giulietta 1.4, and today my 4th car, although my GTV is the "mediteranean" version, the 2.0l V6 Tb.
You've already tested the 4200 and the Elise s2, so you've tested all my cars. Thanks!

Love em, had plenty and still have 2 at the min.
V6 sounds awesome

I owned a '97 GTV 3.0 V6 for 18 years, seeing your video makes me miss it a lot. Great review, all weak points mentioned are true, I had the bushes, springs and shocks replaced after 10 years and that really improved the ride. You only missed mentioning the expensive, 3 year replacment of the timing belt. The TCO of a Busso is sometimes more than the fun you get out of driving it unfortunately...

One of the greatest car designs, as far as I'm concerned. And it's pretty much ageless.

throw it in third and you can drive it like an auto; the gears are there to control the busso volume, your grin and bank balance. I'm impressed you managed the bonnet release without losing all the skin on the back of your hand.
