This Overlooked RDR2 Mechanic Can Spawn Almost Anything

There’s a simple but extremely overlooked mechanic in Red Dead Redemption 2 that can help you spawn different animals, rare horses, random encounters, and even refresh certain loot locations.

In this video, I’ll show you how riding a short distance away from a location can refresh the area and completely change what spawns there. We’ll use this method to replace ox breeds at Downes Ranch, force a Western Bull Moose to appear at Owanjila Lake, and refresh the horses found at a random NPC campsite—including the rare Few Spotted Appaloosa.

This method is especially useful when completing the animal compendium or working toward the Zoologist and Skin Deep trophies. Instead of traveling across the entire map, sometimes all you need to do is leave the immediate area, return, and give the game another opportunity to generate the animal you need.
