Seeing the longform video of your hike makes me appreciate what Renee is able to do even more. She is pretty small in stature but able to keep up with Tim and take on all the same challenges. AND she has to deal with her period. Way to go!

Watched the whole thing while walking on my new to me treadmill carrying my 25lb pack, dreaming of cooler hikes this fall.  I only walked two miles and felt happy to be done as you guys were finishing up.  I know you two are thrilled to accomplish this genuinely amazing feat!  Thank you so much for sharing.  Enjoy your back to school/work time too.

I enjoy your Shorts but have really loved these long form Sierra High Route videos. You're so inspiring and a testament to teamwork and accomplishing a shared vision. I cracked up when you were walking out of the Mammoth grocery store and Renee had the stack of food with the cake up top. Congratulations!

It’s always cool when Tim gets to show his geological expertise! Geometric shapes in nature are certainly interesting. I love these long form videos! What a beautiful route. I couldn’t make it up one of those passes let alone all of them lol.

For those wondering, the Minaret Vista, named in 1868 by the California Geological Survey, includes seventeen peaks named after local explorers; the tallest one - Clyde Minaret - was named for Norman Clyde:  a mountaineer and nature photographer who is best known for managing 130 first ascents (first documented successful climbs) and for setting a speed record climbing Mount Shasta in 1923.

I was also fascinated with the mine huts and shafts - just trying to imagine what it was like for the workers trying to survive so high up in the mountains away from civilization while also trying to eek enough minerals out of those mines to make it worthwhile.  They must have put in an immense amount of effort.  I love old historical stuff like that!

Congratulations on completing the Sierra High Route - so glad you two made it through safely, and thank you for taking us along!  I would be interested in doing one of the thruhikes on a trail, but I don't think I would ever consider something off trail like this.  Still, the views were beautiful, and the sense of accomplishment must be very rewarding!  Congrats again! :)
