How long do DJI drone batteries actually last in real-world conditions? In this ultimate DJI endurance benchmark test, I put 8 popular DJI drones through a standardized static hover test at around 80-100m to discover their true usable flight time - from the very first photo frame to the orange Return-to-Home (RTH) warning threshold.

I compare hover times and total 2 second interval photo frames captured across three distinct categories:
• Heavyweight Class: DJI Air 3 vs DJI Air 3S
• Sub-250g Mini Series: DJI Mini 5 Pro vs Mini 4 Pro vs Mini 3 Pro

Mini 5 Pro with a new(ish) extended battery achieved 36m15s (1,095 frames) for a test in very similar conditions, beating the Air 3! Don't ask me how I know that - I shall plead the 5th! 🤣

What an awesome video. I was certainly surprised to hear of the next to no extra battery draw when shotting both formats. I also think that you raised a fair point about the "variable" of newer vs older batteries. Actually, come to think of it. I should run the same test you did with the 6 batteries I have for the mini 4 pro. I mean I know that I get extra time out of the 3 newer one but it would be interesting to know how much time. Challenge excepted.

Amok I can't say why exactly but I enjoy your content more than any other drone content creator on YouTube. I look forward to every video you release, and I always learn something new. Unfortunately, I'm sure that over time you will acquire drones I will never be able to own since our government overlords here in the US have deemed that the boogey man lives in all drones not made in our so-called "free country". yep kinda like the car game I'm in "45mpg honest" lol now its the same with electric cars it might get that range if you switch everything off including the radio and with a tail wind ,,,maybe lol

I don't have many drones but I too was shocked when I put my Mini 5 up in the air and discovered that it had magic Duracell Bunny powers of longevity.

As for the Mavic Pro dudes, my mate has the Mavic Pro 3 and to be honest, I think I'd pass on this one. Yes it has a sexy Micro Four Thirds sensor and that is just awesome in low light. But the tele zoom lens in low light leaves a lot to be desired. It looks like a cheap web cam rather than a stupidly expensive flying lens. Other than bragging rights I'd say that the Air drones are the sweet spot with the MFT sensor.

Do you have info on the extended batteries in the Neo 2 and Mini 5 Pro? My Mini 5 Pro could come much closer to King status when extended, price and transportability are in play "Bang for the buck"
