The B5 costs $40,000 in China, while the B8 costs $50,000. And they come with more features.


I live in Kazakhstan. We got the B8 exactly a year ago in December, and the B5 two years ago. But here it's called Leopard 5 or 8. Our trim level is much more interesting, the grille is more beautiful, and the R21 wheels are a different design. There are three displays in the front, ambient lighting, and wood trim on the doors. I drive up to 100 km on battery power in the city and on gasoline on the highway. The tank is 92 liters. I have a charging station at home. The B8 weighs 4 tons with passengers, and can tow a trailer up to 2.5 tons. Acceleration to 100 in 4.8 seconds, 950 horsepower. The 2-liter turbo engine produces 272 horsepower. The battery is 37 kW. Brembo brakes are 6 piston, all 4 brake discs are ventilated and cross-drilled.  Night vision, massage, 3 fragrances, a refrigerator, a microwave, a sunroof, and Devialet music are available. 6- and 7-seater cabins are available.

B5 all the way.  Best car coming in the new year hands down.

Love the B5 from what I've seen on YT so far. Definitely on the list.

I must be old because I don’t understand the voice command as it takes longer to voice command than just pushing a button but I would love a basic vehicle with no frills.

Really good video. It’s a pity that BYD in Oz and the UAE have gone down the Denza route and not Fangcheng Bao. I got the L8 and it’s so much better than the B8 as Denza have stripped down so much on B5/8 vs the Leopard models.

Check out the Jetour that can cross river and has long cruising range.

A great aftermarket product for these cars I think would be a solar panel system for the roof that could recharge the car as it runs. There's quite a lot of surface on the roof of both the Denza and the Shark 6, if the whole roof was filled with solar panels, I think you could recharge the car enough during the day to extend the EV only range of the car by some 5 to 10kms, and when camping it's enough to run a large fridge without using up fuel. One could mount solar panels themselves but it wouldn't be able to charge the car as it runs.

what's better for day to day and occasional offroading? the Leopard with the fancy suspension or base model and do a lift on that?  wonder what size wheels you can fit on both?

I was all in on the B8 ready for purchase until i discovered Australia will receive the TEMU versions.
Hopefully we will get the Chinese models in the future?
