It wasnt even a failure, the greedy bastards abandoned it

a good red dead online is our Tahiti lmao

I am aware that I'm in the minority when I say this, but not only did Rockstar abandon Red Dead Online, but they also abandoned RDR2's Storymode.

If only rockstar had allowed us to buy mansions and saloons and potentially even start our own small towns
It had the potential for shark card sales like gta online

Not making Undead Nightmare 2 was their biggest failure

The fact that RDR2 (one of the most cinematic games ever) doesn't have Rockstar Editor to this day IS INSANE! This is such an outrageous blunder, I can't get over it.

So they gave up on the game because gamers wouldnt take the bs they were peddling to us. Basically a corporate temper tantrum

You know what's funny? The success of GTA 5 stopped future story dlc to focus on the online and in this case its flipped. You can never win with companies 😂

i really love playing rdo, i find it really relaxing, and it makes me so sad that it's basically just fully abandoned and has been for a while

Red Dead Online had so much potential, and you cannot change my mind.

Bank heists, train robberies, stagecoach stick-ups. A continuous of the online story with Madam LeClerk. More gambling options like blackjack and fiver finger fillet. Maybe even a prison break at Sisika Penitentiary.

It could have been so much more, and Rockstar left it to die in favour of GTA Online, which was already full of so much, that imo it went too far. Mainly with all its futuristic stuff like oppressor mk2, flying delorians, orbital strike cannons, etc. It was way too extreme and becoming futuristic in a game meant to be set roughly around present day. I hope they dont do the same with GTA 6, but i feel they will. Because GTA is their god damn piggy bank and they dont care about their communities feelingsz they just care about money.

I was one of those fans of the game who desperately hoped that rockstar would return to this game and bring something new and exciting.

But as each day goes by I just slowly lose hope, it’s such a shame that they choose to abandon a game that has so much potential all because it become their next fat cash cow 😢

Rockstar trying to kill RDO but the community will keep it alive

Having an option to join lobbies with player blips showing, expanding Mexico, Undead nightmare dlc, Adding donkeys, mules, Gatling gun wagons, train cart bars, Boats, Air balloons, law men themes+outfits, Pinkerton themes+outfits, doing something with the casino boat, creator mode to make death matches, role play lobbies

I always wished they allowed invite only sessions

5:18 iirc the beans are like what, 7 bucks? $1 in 1899 is $38 now, multiply that by 7 and thats the price of BEANS

What we could see in RDR online is a glimpse of how the GTA online monetization will look like.
In GTA 4 and 5 the online mode was a passion project, it was never meant to get that big and so the monetization was not made to profit as much as possible. But with RDR online the wanted it to get as big as GTA online and they want to monetize it that way.
So we can expect in GTA 6 online all monetization they  put in RDR online + all they bring into GTA online afterwards.
This means FOMO passes, subscription models, 2 (maybe 3) currencies (1 ingame and one real money, the third could be earned by playing exclusive content like premium FOMO passes) and of course a lot of content that is locked out from the normal ingame currency (GTA$).
I wouldn't even wonder if some of the online monetization find its way into the Story mode, like car insurance you can only get with the real money currency.

totally bummed over how this masterpiece of a game's true potential was never unlocked.

The fact that Red Dead Online got abandoned, alongside GTA The Trilogy Definitive Edition and the rumors it might cost $100, makes me have no faith in GTA 6. That makes the cheaper, more good-looking Pokemon Legends Z-A look more appealing to me.

It still baffles me that they continue to support a much older and "worse" game as opposed to keeping their newer recent "better" title up to date and thriving.

This video is really well put together, I love the little cuts to you outside. Liked and subbed
