Elvis Costello has been a premier song writer for decades. Check out "Allison"

"Watching the Detectives" is a must listen.

He’s one of the outstanding wordsmiths; a great songwriter.

Elvis Costello is an excellent rabbit hole to go down, so much inventiveness

Elvis is incredible! So so many good songs of his to check out.

I don't want to go to Chelsea
What's so funny 'bout Peace, love and understanding
Watching the Detectives
Alison
Pump it up
Red shoes
Accidents will happen

He is one of my all time favorite artists!

This will be your first of many in his songbook. He’s so diverse from Pump it Up, Allison, Peace Love and Understanding and so many more. Welcome to Elvis Costello!

Even in a perfect world where everyone was equal
I'd still own the film rights
And be working on the sequel

Forgot to mention Elvis' Man Out of Time. Holy crap. Rips your heart out.

Good Stuff Polo. As always.
“Watching The Detectives” is THEE Must Listen to Song when it comes to Elvis Costello. Along w/ “Pump it Up”, “Five Gears in Reverse”, “My Aim is True”, &, “Mystery Dance”…
it’s where he started everything.

Shipbuilding is the greatest song ever written.

I love that you liked this. At the time of this song's release, Elvis Costello was emerging from the New Wave genre which grew out of punk in the late 1970s. In the UK, New Wave artists drew influences from such diverse genres as punk, ska, and soul. Elvis is a very clever pop songwriter and lyricist. Check out his album with Burt Bacharach, some absolute masterpieces on there.

Love Elvis Costello. Take the dive into his work. You won't regret it.

Elvis Costello is his own genre...above and beyond all the many genres that he has worked & flourished within. His lyrics are singularly unique, and deserving of a long, deep dive. Peace! ✌😎

Accidents will happen great song, powerful.

E.C. was my favorite artist for many years. Clever and sardonic, who eventually showed us his deep emotional side. A true genius of his time. This song was definitely one of his more poppier moments.

Check out the song Veronica (about his grandmother). Also his wife: Diana Krall, a jazz pianist and singer. She’s awesome in her own right.

Allison, Peace Love and Understanding, Almost Blue, and Shipbuilding are awesome songs by Elvis. Check them out!

Man this guy has a 45 year catalog. He sings punk, ballads, rock, and even Burt Bacharach. Try Allison, Watching The Detectives, Deep Dark Truthful Mirror, All The Rage, The Beat…etc
