Just after a light rain, I arrived at Baishiling Ancient Village in Shitai County, Chizhou, Anhui. The wet blue stone paths reflect the sky, mist swirls between the mountains, lush greenery overflows everywhere, and the whole village is so quiet you can only hear the rain and the stream.
Baishiling was built in 1371 during the Ming Dynasty and has over 600 years of history. Selected as a Chinese Traditional Village in 2022, it still retains its most primitive and authentic appearance.
After the summer rain, Baishiling feels like a living ink painting — primitive, serene, and incredibly healing.
