Baixue Tun is located in Shangjin, Longzhou County, Guangxi, on a peninsula formed by a bend in the Zuo River. The village is surrounded by water to the south, west, and north, with the Zuo River flowing around it. Even today, taking a ferry remains the only way to enter the village. The white limestone cliffs along the river are also the origin of the name “Baixue Tun.”

The village preserves traditional homes built with mud bricks, blue-tiled roofs, and traditional wooden structures, retaining the simple architectural style of the Qing Dynasty. There are also six rock-art sites in and around the village along the Zuo River, making this one of the areas where rock art is relatively concentrated within the Zuo River Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape.

In this episode, let’s step into this isolated village, a hidden paradise seemingly cut off from the outside world, and experience the historical memories of a traditional village that have endured for more than a thousand years.
