The Foreign Exchange Market or Forex Market, or FX Market, is where investors trade currencies. FX traders trade currencies against each other, betting on whether one currency will go up or down relative to another. For example, USD/GBP bets on whether the US dollar will go up or down compared to the British Pound. EUR/USD bets on whether the Euro will go up or down relative to the US dollar. Stocks allow people to invest in companies, but currencies allow people to invest in entire countries and economies. But it’s a dangerous game. FX traders often use leverage, meaning they invest position much larger than their actual capital. This can lead to trouble if their investment doesn’t go as planned.
