One of my favourite sayings is:
“Money or morals? Pick one”

It’s unbelievable how many people choose money.

That first customer (with ‘no service history’) would have been told to jog on at most dealerships.

This guy is so down to earth, some customers are a piece of work.

You're a very very decent human being and business man Calvin....Best of luck for the future....

My dad runs a small business and he always says “if you do a good job for someone they might tell 5
Friends. If you do a bad job they’ll tell all of their friends”

A1 customer was so cheeky. Definitely gone above what is necessary. Should have gave them nothing back.

1. Perfect excuse for a refund
2. Stealers blowing smoke up....
3. Previous owner already knew
4. She was lucky to meet you
5. Should have bought a Ford

an honest decent car dealer, so refreshing

Wouldn’t have gave her a refund personally, especially after you said you wasn’t going to.

If I would have been customer of that zafira that then realised service history was in car all along , I would have apologised , still had the car and gave Calvin  a drink on me for the headache 👌

That £250 deposit would be a case it is non refundable, but the hassle she would lay down onto you would cost you time, effort, sanity and low moral of staff and cost you more than the £250. So that was an experience reaction.

Back in 2022, I bought a 2008 Audi TT, mk2 with the 3.2 V6. Drove great on the test drive, and I purchased it with confidence. The car had just had an MOT and had been serviced by the dealer, a company in Luton not too dissimilar to BINCA.

Fast forward a week or so and I noticed the car was running rich, occasionally misfiring and just not running how it should. I drove it from MK back to Luton and told them what was up. Gave them their opportunity to fix it. They had the car for two weeks, and then eventually delivered it back to me in MK but the problem was never resolved. It took me 4 months or arguing back and forth until I finally got a refund for the car, but they got the last laugh when they took £750 for a 'restocking fee'.

Had it been BINCA, I know the problem would've been solved straight away, but it annoys me to see such extremes in the car trade world; one dealer giving refunds where they shouldn't, and another refusing to give a refund where they absolutely should be.

Zafira customer is a 🔔 end ! To mitigate this show the service history when log book is handed over !

Cheaper the car bigger the cheapskate.....

Mate, most 2nd hand car dealers I've ever encountered would move heaven and earth not to ever give a refund or spend any money on a car they have sold. Your attitude to dealing with problems is a breath of fresh air.

As a former business owner - it's great to see a video like this. Being threatned by Trading Standards is a go to for a lot of customers before giving you a chance to rectify the situation. Great video and much needed.

The longer you're in the car trade the less the public surprises you, especially with how entitled they can be. There was once a time when paying a deposit meant if you 'changed your mind' you lost the deposit for the inconvenience you caused, how things have changed. The ole saying 'You can't please all of the people all of the time, but you can please some of the people some of the time' remember that, it speaks volumes how you deal with problems, you're a good bunch so keep doing what you do👍

All of these people would’ve been told to sit and swivel if it was my dealership. You’re too good Calvin

Calvin is a legend , proper genuine geezer ❤

Being a car dealer is a pain when you got idiots and schemers to deal with
