For those who have been asking/want to ask: Yes I am playing the Crimson mod. In fact I plan on making a video about it shortly so stay tuned!

I wanna EAT DMC3 Summoned Swords, they look so delicious in this game.
Love their slight turquoise hue and the blue smoke around them when they shatter.
Definitely looking way cooler than they do in the later games, and the way people incorperate them into combos has a really unique look since they shoot so slowly and very controlled.

It's cool playing Vergil in this game since, contrary to Dante in vanilla, he doesn't have any loadout limitations on him, so you get to use the entirety of his kit, but I personally struggle HARD with pressing Triangle right after a jump cancel, so the fact Vergil has to constantly keep up that perfect rythm with Yamato Rave JC Yamato Rave, because if you ever reach the second hit you instantly say bye bye to your combo, makes him extremely challenging to do things with imo. It's like a skillcheck you gotta hit before you start being able to experiment, and I'm still stuck on that iirc lol (I know I could remap my controls but ehhhhhhhh)

Great video as usual, and love the Thumbnail art

I will forever be thankful for Blowhard who showed me that dmc3 Vergil gameplay can be more than just aerial rave and starfall spam.

I always liked how dmc3 Vergil’s attacks felt a bit slower and weightier than his later iterations, made him feel more calm and considered in combat. It fit his character in my opinion better in comparison to Dante, who felt more wild and reckless to play as. Little things like how blistering swords has a more delayed firing rate, as well as a lot of the Yamato swings having a bit more startup/endlag in 3 made me feel more like I was playing as the same character from the boss fights he appeared in.

Yamato air rave pose from DMC3 might be forever ingrained in my mind at this point, it just looks so cool.
Kind of pains me a little bit than some people call this Vergil clunky or bad just because he isn't as comically OP as he is in every other game, when in reality he just has a bit of a learning curve and he actually requires you to use all of his weapons, similar in a way to 4Dante but without style switching and just in general less frustrating to learn in the beginning

omg he's back

I can't really decide whether I like DMC 3 or 5 Vergil the most, on one hand, I miss some features of 5, heavy rain, void slash, JCE, aerial JC and all that good shit, but at the same time I miss SO MUCH Vergil's aerial combo and darkslayer style of 3! I commented on your DMC 4 video, but his air tricks being slow might serve as an advantage sometimes because they can serve as a mix between trickster and royal guard, when I played DMC 3 I remember vividly paying attention to every enemy's attacks, including bosses just so o could air trick THROUGH their attacks without getting away from from them, if they only do a single hit I just do normal air trick and keep comboing them, and back in those days I wouldn't even DREAM of landing a perfect guard with Dante so that shit made me so happy, I hate embedded swords so much

Amazing and informative video.

Thanks for the Limitless Potential Combo Mad shoutout. It was amazing seeing everyone collectively showing all the new cool techniques and ideas to make the 2008 game skill ceiling keep going ❤

Oh, you weren't kidding when you said this was coming out soon

my favorite detail about DMC3 Vergil is that when using Yamato, a few attacks had lengthy finishing animations that you'd get style points and DT for letting them play in full. It was a flavorful and more even handed way of trying to get you to play like Vergil than the concentration meter.

Okay I know the video is about DMC but I saw the thumbnail and my brain went "Simply AMAZING, Roxas" and I had to voice this thought

Vergil from DMC3 is my favorite one. He just hits like a truck with every weapon he has, i like a lot more than the constant flurry of blows from 4 & 5. It really feels a lot more fitting and in character with how he is portrayed in cutscenes,  that being precise, powerful and efficient, as opposed to Dante being wild and messing with the foes a lot more.

Love these DMC deep dive videos, good to see you posting again.

You are 1/3 of the reason I bought to 1 through 4 of DMC

It's never too late to talk about VergilGOD, good video, friend.

I've never felt more motivated to get home faster

Yo another chasertech video on my childhood dropped

I also like Vergil's teleportation animation in DMC 3. It really looks like he's moving fast in the blink of an eye. In DMC5, it feels less flashy and more realistic.

I was JUST watching the DMC4 vergil video

Posting this before watching: Happy to see you  back, man! Hope you are well amidst all that has required your attention.
